Okay so I bought a new hard drive (1TB) and *edited*ed up multiple times on installing windows. I think my disc was dirty, because have I cleaned it I could get the whole thing on the *edited*er. Now my issue is, some where along the line of installing, I partitioned my hard drive, making only a 200GB Primary “my-pc”. I’m looking at My Computer, and I don’t see where the rest of my hard drive space is. Is there any way to access the other 700GB’s or am I screwed and have to reinstall windows? I don’t mind having it split, as long as I can use the 700GB’s as storage. I’m a moron, and made things complicated, but if there is a solution that would be awesome.

right click on my computer, click manage. Under storage, click Disk Management. You can create and edit partitions there.

okay new question that I’m sure seems obvious to some but causes me migranes. Now that I have this new hard drive. How do I make the old one a slave? People keep telling me to flip some switches on the hard drive, or something. I have taken the old one out and am looking at it, I see nothing that even look slike a switch.

I assume the new one is a SATA. Don’t have enough info to determine the other one. SATA doesn’t have a master and slave, it goes solely on the port you are using. SATA0 > SATA1 > SATA2, etc when it comes to drive lettering and booting unless you specify otherwise in BIOS.

SATA is almost almost prioritized and lettered before IDE.

    yeah they are both SATA’s

I made sure to plug in the new one in SATA0, its working smooth, and now I have more memory than I probaby need. Thanks all for the help
