Word up? I’ve heard from some people in cevo and some of the admins for the league there that css would be moving to the TF2 version of the source engine later this month, new netcode and such. Wonder if this will be coming with it. Hopefully they will fix basic *edited* like sticking through walls, crab walking, objects obstructing bomb defusal and exploiting interp.

There’s never been any doubt about CSS going to the orange box codebase. The only question was when.

Heh. It would happen when I’m so close to being done too. Oh well, such is life.

ParticipantQuestion… So would this new CS end up being a different version that we would have to buy separately (idk CS OrangeBox) or would it be an update to CS Source?
December 2, 2007 at 12:07 pm #31633Bitey
ParticipantProbably an update, I think one of the things they wanted to do was put in the assist system as well as a much better stats system like the one TF2 has, as well as some of the other more technical things.

Participantliam if i let you kill me every time could i have your computer?
December 5, 2007 at 11:49 am #31796enough
Participantliam, do you think there will be the same drop in fps when the upgrade to the tf2 engine then?
that would make this game pretty much unplayable for me on certain maps.
lemm, what computer do you have? did you get one through clemson?
December 5, 2007 at 12:53 pm #31801Liam
ParticipantHonestly, as far as the graphics/system requirements are concerned, yes it will be higher because of the new engine, but, unless Valve goes and redoes the models, maps, etc, I doubt we will see much of an increase in system requirements for CSS.
I’ll try and find some better information out insofar as the system reqs are concerned though. No promises but I’ll try.
Raine, no, you cant have my new computer. I
Amicus, 8800gtx + 2.4ghz quad-core ftw.

ParticipantNo I really doubt you will see that big of a drop in frames per second, if they improved all the models and textures to a level like they are in tf2 then yeah you proly would. End of december is apparently when it’s coming though. In other news DEUS EX 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!CARDIAC ARRESTOMG http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=21…h&plindex=0
