ParticipantI want a new case to replace what I have now (Aspire/Apevia X-Dreamer II).
I was thinking maybe the Antec 900 or Cooler Master 690. I don’t want the Armor because its just too big.
Oh, here is what would go in it (current setup):
Asus P5B-E Motherboard
Core 2 Duo E6600 w/ Zalman 9500 Cooler
evga 8800GTS 640mb
2x2GB Mushkin and 2x1GB OCZ DDR-2 800
Chaintech VIA Envy24 soundcard
1TB Hitachi SATA
SATA DVD Burner
600W Cooler Master PS
What do you guys think?

ParticipantI was sorta thinking the same about the CM 690… how much would you give me for the case I have now (helps me establish a budget).
I can take pics of it if you want/need.

Participantawww….
my case is $55 on newegg + $15 shipping now… I would probably need more than $20, specially since its only about 5 months old.

Back to my original post, go with the Armor. “It’s too big” is never an excuse for anything, I believe they even have a Man Law about that.
Back to topic: The Antec 900 looks to be a good case for the price.

Btw, Mouchet has found some case straps rated to work on fully loaded Armor cases. Doubt that will make a difference but it might.

ParticipantNah, I really don’t want one because it is about 5x too big for the stuff I am putting in it; I am looking for mid tower only.
So I am at 2 votes antec 900, 1 vote cooler master 690 amirite?
February 26, 2008 at 6:52 pm #38416Nickname
ParticipantForgot to mention, I am really interested in cases that have the PS on the bottom of the case.
February 26, 2008 at 7:08 pm #38420MasterP
ParticipantAlso keep in mind that most of the mid-tower cases cannot fit an 8800 series video card without sacrificing hard drive mounts in the front. Make sure you measure everything before you buy.

ParticipantHave you seen the case I have now? They don’t come much smaller.
Also, the 8800gts is shorter than your gtx

ParticipantHe doesn’t really need the space for hard drives like I did. I’m pleased with the Armor, but I can understand not wanting to deal with it. I vote for Chupa’s case. I was really impressed by it at the LAN.

ParticipantThe giant fan was mildly impressive. Still doesn’t beat the 240mm radiator.

I don’t want a case that is full of 80MM fans instead of larger quieter 120MM fans.
