New 1.6 Rotation

The server population has dropped off sharply in the past couple of weeks and the main reason is the rotation.

We have had some issues in the past with people not liking the way the rotation is set up or dont like the maps that are being used. I have looked at gametracker.com’s site and looked at the top 20 servers and looked at their rotation and what maps populate the server the most.

 

I have looked at the vote that MajorMajorMajor had to choose your favorite maps and i have a pretty good idea on which maps i would like to be on the server, but i want the community’s opinion first.

 

So what i would like you all to do is create your prefect map rotation and map times you would like to see on the server. Please put it in this format:

 

de_dust2 (20)

de_inferno (15)

fy_snow (20)

 

This will give me a good idea on what maps the community enjoys the most. I will create a final rotation in about 3 days once i get a better idea of what we need/want.

also hexflex has offered to hook me up with his massive map list and we can use that to use in either a rotation or fun nites (more of a fyi not pertaining to this convos lol)

yeah ive been going thru the cfg files and checking times and such, most of them seem to be in order and once we come to a decision on the map cycle ill check all the files again

Adam37 you should check if each map works first manually b/c last week half of the maps on the server didn’t work.

– Inferno is just as popular as dust2 so doesn’t inferno deserve 20 minutes also?

 

– Herbal’s rotation is pretty good. It has everything.

 

– I personally would like to see cs_deagle5, de_westwood, some kind of awp map (awp_map/awp_snow_sk33t), and some kind of cpl map on the new rotation (de_cpl_fire/de_cpl_strike).

 

* And of course the essential “official” maps like aztec, nuke, prodigy, dust, chateau, survivor, train*

Can you bring back the simple way of doing admin tsay and admin chat?

– Server finally had some people in it today! Good job AMerrill, Adam37, and the other people who worked hard to get it back running again!

 

– On the new rotation, I personally don’t think maps like militia, vertigo, l33t assault, estate, and de_cpl_strike are gonna work well.

Haha, I was going to say that earlier.

 

If anyone’s gone back to the original post for herbal’s rotation (in my sig), this was back in May of last year… like fifty rotations ago. It would’ve been easier to use on the server then because, with the exception of 1337 assault because the stackers and noobs (or both) wanted upc, we were playing those maps back then and we also had more people in the server all the time.

 

I’d still like to try it, though, if more people are willing to try to get the server populated, i.e. sit in it until people join.

and thats some of the stuff we need to be doing. Unfortunately, its gotten to a level where its not being populated as it could be. I sit in the server while its empty sometimes and it only takes like 5 mins and we get a good stream of people coming in.

 

Last night for examples, me, nodice and a couple of other admins were in the server playing snow and inferno and we got to almost 20 people in the server and it stayed populated for a while.

I think we need to sit in there a little bit more then we are willing to. If you normally go into the server when theres 5 or more go in there when no one is there,if you chill in there for 5min usually try 10, and ALWAYS do what I do: INVITE PEOPLE TO COME AND HARASS THEM IF THEY DONT WANT TO OR “have class.”
