so, I was wonderin what could cause my laptop not wanting to get into the cs:s server, and so I tried the cs 1.6 and the tfc servers. neither of which my laptop could keep a stable video on. and I’m not talkin lag, i’m talkin framerate. in software graphics, low quality audio, 640×480, full screen, low detail mode, and still a shotty framerate. so this thing definitely ain’t gonna be fraggin anyone’s tail, unless I get someone kami style
so, I’ll definitely be takin my tower to the lan. unless I can figure out how to use my laptop as a terminal to my desktop by way of bridging the uc’s network and resnet, which prolly isn’t allowed. just thought i’d mention it for the heck of it…What kind of graphics chipset is in your laptop? Perhaps gxti or myself can hook something up for you…
this thing? hah! nah, this thing is waaaaay to old to try upgradin, plus the only things accessible are the hard drive and the power supply / battery. but my desktop is darn near top of the line, built it with pretty much the best stuff I could get 2 years ago. no trouble runnin at full graphical and audio detail. this laptop is really just a temp till i go shoppin for one, prolly sometime around the start of next semester.
MAKE SURE IF YOU GET A LAPTOP IT HAS DEDICATED VIDEO MEMORY. I can’t stress how important that is for gaming. And it’s f.ing hard to find in a retail store. So hard in fact, I gave up and decided to build another box.
