I saw most of “The Omega Man” and it was pretty good. Charlton Heston had an inter-racial sex scene.omg take that back, that movie was absolutely terrible, I couldn’t even sit through the entire thing due to the horrible acting, and *edited*y special effects, I would spit on the cast of the movie and production team if I ever see them

ParticipantAgreed, I Am Legend was good, a few things I would have done differently though…
What was up with the vampires being stupid? Vampires should have been smart just really hungry and desperate, would have been a more meaningful movie…
They almost made it into another zombie movie…
Oh yeah and like I said it is LOOSELY based on the book, good gawd don’t go in there hoping to see what you read in the book lol.

Participantthey barely used any of the book at all….yet people in reviews have talked about the book. Thats what made me feel like crap about it. Bourne movies were the same way…the only used the books slightly…but they actually did it in a good way…

They weren’t stupid, they were quite smart actually, the movie just didn’t touch upon that like The Omega Man did. They set the trap that cost neville his dog, they tracked him down, and they had a leader. Neville stole the leaders wife so he wanted revenge

You call smart bashing yourself into a wall? Sure they set up a trap but the way they were portrayed throughout the majority of the movie was not intellectual at all just mindless beasts, they don’t even call them vampires, they call them mutants…

ParticipantSpoiler-riffic! I’m not going to tag it because no one else has anyway. But, there’s a warning for you.
The way I saw it, they were just devolved into a more primitive state that made them stupid, but still able to adapt. Like crazy monkeys or something. They had enough of a social structure to recognize relationships (The leader and the girl) and to form communities around a leader (Though it was obviously based around him being the biggest and baddest, and that’s why they followed him. Plus, I assume they only reason they knew to set the trap was that they had been watching him for a very long time and had enough of their kind set by the traps to understand that the mannequin would mean something to him and to learn how to set the trap for themselves.
Also, I don’t think they were meant to be vampires, just have vampiric qualities. Hence the reason why they are never called so.
I enjoyed the movie, by the way.
Though the very, very end with the woman’s monologue didnt do much for me overall.December 19, 2007 at 1:27 am #32616Bitey
ParticipantThat was my point though in the book they are vampires and very much so like vampires, which is also why I said it is nothing like the book, it doesn’t even deserve the title, personally I like the movie better over all, but it totally stole an idea and twisted it lol

ParticipantYeah, I keep hearing from a lot of people that there is almost no connection to the book whatsoever. Unfortunately, I’ve yet to read the story since the library never seems to have a *edited* copy of it in when I’m looking for it.

Participant“how read and write”, you need a “to” in there somewhere I think, maybe you should get your money back?

ParticipantMy question is this: If its such a great priviledge, why did he get it?

ParticipantBecause he probably gave sexual favors to the monks in return
