ParticipantSo I’ve honestly not paid attention to the gaming hardware world in 2 years so I dunno what qualifies a good mouse. My Krait is on the fritz as I assume the connection between the mouse itself and the cord is slowly breaking.
My question is as thus: Do I really need to buy a new mouse as within a year my gaming will be cut by 50% or more? I mean most cheap mouse cost about 10 bucks, so it could just be a temporary solution, but is that 10 dollars I really need to spend?

ParticipantYour really better off shelling out for a 50 dollar mouse with warranty, or go for one of the Razors ::drool::
I mean i shelled out 80 for a headset im still using for about a 1yr (and yeah I can hear u walkin behind walls Xp)

ParticipantSome people say a better mouse will make you game better. I really have no idea. I have used razor products because they look nice and are generally good quality. I’m using a Razor Lachesis now and I’m a big fan. If you watch woot for a while you can normally get an awesome deal on a razor mouse.
I mean, as long as you don’t have a miniature laptop mouse I’d assume you’re okay, hehe.

Participanti’ve been using a g5 for about the last 3 years, and it’s worked pretty well granted it wasn’t cheap, that said, i’ve used headsets that are cheap and they don’t go much further than a year, stupid mic always gives out.
with a mouse, i figure a cheap one will work ok, just keep your cords safe, i think that is the primary cause for why my headsets fail, but with my current setup the cords are safe, so i figure that things should be ok.

my headset> than yours i guarantee
I also keep trying to tell myself I need a good mouse to play video games, but in all honestly I’m half blind anyways so the noticeable difference surpasses me. I feel I will use a microsoft mouse for a while and see what the shelf like on them are. If I’m killing one once a month, it would make more sense to just buy a 50 dollar mouse than spend 10 dollars each month.
I also have gone through 2 G5s and 1 G7 in my days all within 6 months so I prefer to avoid them. My big hands just abuse mICE.
I feel like i may start trolling woot again to see what deals I can find. Woot has never let me down before.

Participantif you use low sensitivity, stick with an optical like the mx518. The lasers have negative acceleration problems at low sens. You can try playing with a 10 dollar mouse but try to do a quick 180 and see if it spazes out.
