Yeah well. I had a call the other day:
User: “My blackberry wont receive emails.”
Liam: turn it off, pull the battery and sim card, wait a minute, put all that back in and turn it on.
User: I’ve been on it all night using the phone and cant afford to turn it off.
Liam: If your on it, they usually dont receive emails.
User: Oh. *calls back on landline*
User: Your right, it just received 20 emails.
Liam: Yeah. Bye now.
He wasn’t implying that, but like his example sometimes it is the most obvious thing that we as humans forget to do.

Now that I know your not stupid, have you done the ‘test microphone’ option in CS? Does it work there but not in game? Is your voice-chat key bound? Is it conflicting with any other keys?
nope im using a mic stand and its not conflicting with any keys. I can turn all the options up and yell into the mic and it wont work on cs. I play some wow and it works there. It also works in vent. It is like completly dead when im trying to test it or use it in game
wispy make sure you setup your mic right with windows and your video card, I had an issue once where I couldn’t get my mic to work in-game if I had vent running at the same time, or it would only work in one and not the other. So check that stuff, most of the time it is user error and not equipment you just gotta check all your bases…
i’m guessing you haven’t messed with your config, but in case, check to see if the key is still bound “+voicerecord”

im assuming you reinstalled cs, but what i do from time to time, is actually click on “cstrike” and hit delete. its kinda rash but then i go and reinstall cs. my guess that will or work or try posting http://www.gotfrag.com
