I just recently formatted my computer and re-installed CS, now I was trying to get everything setup like I had before the format, but I can’t seem to get my max framerate above 60. I am using the same video settings for the game, (or very similar I think) and I have changed the value of “max_fps” to 100 which I remember doing before, but my framerate still stays locked at 60. I’m not sure if it could be another setting within CS that is causing this or a setting elsewhere on my computer. The game runs smoothly and plays fine, part of me just says forget it, but the other part of me feels like I’m being cheated out of my 40 frames.
Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks.

Leave it at 60. Your monitor probably can’t display anything over 60 anyway.

mine does 60 in 1.6 and get 120 in css on same monitorDo you have a flatpanel monitor? If so, max refresh rate is 60. Max FPS is 60.
I do have a flatpanel, I play on a laptop. I guess I will just leave it be, I am very curious how I managed to get it to 100 before the format though. Oh well, thanks for the help guys.

It doesn’t matter what you’re computer says, the monitor is only displaying 60FPS. I push 150+FPS on most maps with CSS maxed out but my monitor is only displaying 60FPS.
