Does anyone else tend to notice that while an avid gamer and general game-lover, I’m not that good at Madden, NCAA, the like. I played soccer in highschool and was all-state, and I just don’t know much about football schemes. I don’t know if that’s my downfall and I prefer CSS and other role playing and FPS games, or if i’m just ignorant. I’m amazing at the Winning Eleven series (Best soccer series hands down, It’s pro-evolution soccer on ps). I was just wondering if this is singularly my problem or shared by others. By no means am I terrible and I don’t shy away, currently I completed the legend mode in ncaa07 which was an amazing addition and my new favorite part of the game(maybe because it brings more reality to it and more into a first person kind of game). But I still get thrashed by my football buddies from college.
Just some discussion after flakes post about madden at the lan.
It might help to add that I don’t put much thought into picking plays, although through the campus legend mode I learned a lot and make more informed decisions now. ESPN football 101 helps too haha
I just know that Madden is severely flawed to the point where you only pick 3 plays and audible from there. I haven’t heard that about the most recent set of Madden games, but I know that was the way in the past. A lot of the game is controlled by AI since you only control 1 out of 11 players at a time. So the AI behaves to a set pattern. I personally don’t care for the Madden series since it’s essentially the same game that it always has been as far as gameplay goes. I’m not against having it at LANs though. But yeah, I had the same problems about picking plays, but now I make more knowledgable decisions in picking whether to run or pass as well as what kind of defense to run.
