ParticipantOk so im high as balls right now and I was watching family guy blue harvest and I started to think why the hell do they use lazers? I mean if it were bullets they wouldnt be able to see them coming and thus wouldnt be able to block em with their light sabers. Am I the only one who doesnt get this? There is a good chance I wont remember any of this when I wake up so I gotta tell yall right now.

ParticipantBullets might be a good idea, but still would not hold much of a purpose. It would stop the Jedi from bouncing the projectile back at them, but a good Jedi would still be able to stop each bullet simply by holding his lightsaber in front of it. The bullet would be disintegrated, or the Jedi could just dodge the bullet, Jedi reflexes allow them to be able to see an event before it happens so they know how to react for it. I dunno why I wasted my time replying to a high persons philosophizing, but oh well, I did and there it is.

ParticipantA lazer travels at the speed of light; a bullet travels at just over the spe of sound. Lazers are obviously a more affective weapon. The reason Jedis can stop a lazer with their lightsabers is because they use the Force to see it coming. A bullet would pose even less of a threat.
Citan, police are being dispatched to your house right now.

ParticipantI have an issue with the whole “war” in star wars.
So this civilization a long long time ago, in a galaxy far away, is so advanced, it has evolved sentient beings, multicultural solarsystems and planets trading with each other, advanced weapons and technology, and even a huge starship capable of destroying planets. But when two populations of the galaxy duke it out in a galactic battle, they use old school red-coat tactics. They did this more in the new ones than the old. I guess for the effects. I was also baked when I thought about this, also had to write it down before I forgot lol.

Participanti have a problem with star wars in general, it supposedly occurs “a long long time ago”, but somehow in the future, what the hell?
March 23, 2009 at 12:32 pm #75578torankusu
ParticipantThat’s supposed to imply that someone is telling the story from WAY in the future about Star Wars’ time. So to them, our time is like… ancient times.

If you ask my bullets are better and as for the holding the lightsaber infront of them I assume you are saying the heat would disintegrate the bullet but if that were true it would do the same thing to them or their hand.

Participanti believe that to avoid all of the skeptisism from anyone they add the last part “in a galaxy far far away” and with this there isn’t much that we can talk about because we don’t know what is going on in another galaxy, there could be giant three headed ninja monkey frogs and we wouldn’t have the slightest clue, so that is why they can say “a long long time ago” and there isn’t much to argue about it, the bottom line is we just don’t know for sure
but lazers kick some serious *edited*
March 23, 2009 at 10:07 pm #75660Citan001
ParticipantI still say if they were bullets they couldnt be dodged/blocked. This isint the matrix here and we can all clearly see the lazers too. I remember hearing somewhere that when it comes to machine guns every like 5th round was a tracer round so you could see where your hitting and that in actuality there are tons more bullets out there then you can actually see so if you ask me it was a big mistake to change from bullets to lazers.

ParticipantI’ve been sitting here for like 5 minutes trying to think of something clever to say about lazers, and I keep drawing blanks.

ParticipantYall need to get back on topic here and yes that was funny but really now why lazers? Bullets just seem so much better I guess the downside is you have to reload if your using bullets where as lazers maybe you dont?

yeah but chances are if you had that option it wouldn’t really matter. You would probably either be a robot, a weird JarJar creature, or a dude with some str implants. Trust me, I know about these things. I play EVE.

Anyways back to all of this I would rather carry bullets because you cant see bullets and thus the jedi cant block em. Lazers seem so fail i mean its really easy to dodge something you can clearly see.

As for the trust the force thing the never really explain the force either I mean for all we know the force is just like a plecibo or however you spell it im far to lazy to look that one up. I mean if someone pumps me up and tells me I can can beat the crap out of someone guess what I can usually beat the crap out of them…I still say bullets are win and besides bullets make it far more gory and thus would be better because lets face it the empire strikes back is so boring as it is. Why not throw in a little blood and guts.
