Lan Console infrastructure

Reading through all the event plans and how we wont to make the console tourrys grow at the lan events, We NEED infrastructure. This is hands down the number #1 limiting problem.

 

All we can rent are: 2 projectors and 2 projector screens and 1 20″ TV via the UC’s hosting staff. (if its not already being held for another event) thats it. normaly only 3-4 TV’s will show up for 20+ people and with the growth of consul and bring in new tourrys like madden, halo, exc, We need more.

 

I’m making this to see what all do you guys have that you could bring to our lan events?

We need consuls but mostly TV’s we can host these tourrys with.

 

 

 

Also 0h_maley, as you know the Grand room has plenty of space, if you would like to redesign the consul floor/table/seating plan (which i would sudjest), so its not a bunch of tables in a corner and have a few set up so its possible to run multiple tourneys. which its looking like its going to be ending up that way….. IF (people will bring their TV’s)

Yeah. A big issue is TVs. I’m depending on our community to bring TVs. And any sound proofing walls and all that to segregate the Guitar Hero will be nice, as well as the rest of the consoles. I just need to see what I have available and I’ll work with that.

i am registered on a paintball site where there is a projector for sale which you can hook game console on to, it also doesn’t need a screen and works on any color wall. i could probably get the price down to $250-$300 shipped. tell me if you guys want it(obviously the gaming club would have to pay for it cause im not lol)

I know this wont’ solve the problem, but many monitors nowadays have vidIO on them as well as dvi/vga. So this might help with one or two screens if anyone can bring one? Also back in PA I have a projector w/ inputs I’m willing to donate, won’t be here by the LAN but as soon as I get back there I’ll try to remember to bring it down. It was top of the line $4500 about 4 or 5 years ago, they haven’t changed a whole lot recently besides the bulb life(which still cost like $400 freakin dollars). But I don’t use it and it works on any whitish wall.

I have a nice 27″ but its friggin heavy, and I’m not carrying it down the stairs and back up the stairs by myself. So if someone wants to come by around 11:30 in the morning and help me with it.. I’d be happy to bring it. 364 benton
