Well i am still having problems with my internet on my 360. When i test the internet speed on my pc it is fine and quite fast. So it should easily be able to handle a game of halo 2…..but it doesnt. I lag really bad so bad that i cant even play. I go back to my pc and check the speed and it it usually over 5 mbps download and over 11 mbps upload. So that should EASILY do for halo…..but i host a game with one other person and we both go to yellow bar and if i have more th one other person it starts out green and soon goes to straight red and no oen can play. When i am in someone elses party..usually everyone has almost perfect ping and i have red bar the entire time. Do i need to register my mac of my 360 with the school or is it some other problem that i dont know of…..this is getting pretty *edited* annoyhing and i need to find the answer before i go insane. I can play pc games fine but xbox is so slow it is pathetic. If it helps i live in Albright-Benton…..maybe my room has messed up internet? Idk but i woudl like to figure it out soon if possible…..thanks all, please help.
yeah man, I’m in LWood and the internet for XBOX is terrible. Yellow/red lag nonstop. But then I go down to Norton to hang with my old roomate and Gear it up with GOW on 360 and it’s fine. I just think that most of the halls have older *edited*ty internet setups and there’s nothing that I know to do about it.
I have the same issues occasionally. Keep in mind that if you play in the middle of a weekday, noone is on! Everyone’s at school or work. If you’re still having problems in the evening/at night, maybe it’s time to chat with ITS.
well i play at all times of the day and sometimes at liek 10 o’ clock i play halo2 and i lag terrible and i dont know what is up…its annoying. I dont have as many problems with GOW but halo2 is horrible and if i dont see changes i am going to call its and see whats up…bec a 10 mbs connection should easily be able to handle halo 2

its not the speed you nerd, they can block certain applications and network traffic like xbox and pc games.
well nerd….i need to get it fixed…im getting *edited*ed off. i am goign to contact them to see whats up and if they can fix it bec. this is rediculous

Well i emailed the its guys and they are going to send someone over to see about it….but why would someone need to come over when they could just do it from their building. can you change port settings or w/e is the issue from my computer?
I know what you mean, man. I have been battling lag on Halo 2 since I got here, and it’s really ruined the game for me. I came back a little early after winter break when few people were here, and the lag was substantially less, but as soon as people started returning, the lag did too. I think the network here really just can’t handle gaming.
It isn’t just Xbox either. Connect to BF2 and check your ping- it might just be me but I’ve seen it be over 1000. You don’t notice the lag as much on GOW because the game is a little more forgiving then Halo 2, but if you suspect lag, aim a shotgun at the ground and watch how long it takes for the shot to hit. 1-2 seconds is not normal haha.
Also, different residences seem to be better or worse. I lived in Lwood earlier this year and XBL almost made me pull out my hair or Gears OR on Halo. I’m in Norton now, and while Gears is a lot more enjoyable, I still shy away from Halo as it is often still pretty laggy. Ping will be green, then you get killed, yell lag, and then see it in the yellow or red where it stays for a while, only to return to green, giving you false hope. Repeat.
In summary: don’t bother with XBL unless… well unless you like lag.
Maybe we can negotiate a new packet class for gaming traffic. It’s very low bandwidth, it just needs high priority.
yes please do….i hate playing and always lagging but today it was perfect but usually it is horrendus. if they can fix it i would gladly app it…..i need better internet…

i will be trying it out today. i played alot yesturday and alot this morning but i want to test it when i know people are using the internet.
