I need to know what you all would like to see added to our servers if we get a new server? This will be somewhat of a nomination, then after a few days, we will hold a poll for the top 4 that have been nominated.

I think we should run more left 4 dead servers, eventually l4d2 and modern warfare 2 servers

On newer servers CSS/TF2/L4D use almost no CPU at all once they’re up and running. TAG had 2 L4D and when they were both 8/8 they used maybe 3% of a quadcore xeon between the two of them. We’ll have two 6core opterons. Win will ensue.

A large network of L4D and L4D2 could be very beneficial.

If we get this in time for MW2 it would be a great chance to get a early start with a new and epic game.

Strongly agree with l4d2 and modern warfare 2 servers in the foreseeable future.

L4D is practically self ran and governed once its initially setup. Its what we need since the PC council is week on campus. We can set these bad boys up and they run themselves making advertising our club to a ton of people effortless. stats will bring them to our website.

TF2 is simply too hard to get going with our dwindling pc side of the community. However it does great at our campus lan events.

and of course both out counter-strikes as without this community the forms would be 99% dead.

but we really cant add anything until we get a new box.

I do think we should open deviate from the steam base FPS’s, and include in our scope the possibility of other style games like dare i say maybe a world of warcraft and a battle field 2 server.

just a repeat suggestion – it got shot down in spectacular fashion at least once, but just in case times have changed and there may be some interest –

Sometimes (and perhaps now much more than previously) a free-to-download free-to-play game could have some merit. America’s Army 3 is (to my knowledge) free both as a steam game and as a stand-alone game. And it’s based on the Unreal 3 engine. This may or may not draw some interest.

Unfortunately, I can’t play due to no gaming-grade computer tied into an internet connection, so let the rest of the Club evaluate this suggestion.
