Whats the difference between the geforce 9000series and 8000series? 9000 is cheaper and appears to be the same or better than the 8000series

Only real difference i can see is the # of stream processors as seen here

the 9600gt has the same core as the 8800gt, just fewer stream processors. other than that there is literally NO difference. Way to go nvidia for messing up the product naming.

Fewer stream processors will make a noticible difference. The 8800 and 9600 certainly aren’t the same, or equivalent, cards.

The 9600gt is equal to or better than the 8800gts 320mb and 640mb and the 8800gt 256mb

It is not as good as the 8800gt 512mb, 8800gts 512mb or 8800gtx/ultra
