ParticipantOkay, so, I need a screen capture program that can save images in a small format. That means either .gif, .jpeg, or best of all, .png. I will also be using this program to capture screenshots from games, such as CS:S, Mass Effect, etc… so it’s going to have to be directx compatible.
I was pointed to fraps, which is very nice, except the trial only allows me to save in .bmp format, which sucks massive donkey *edited* if you want to upload the screens online quickly.
While video capture and all would be nice, frankly, I don’t need it.
I just need a good, free, screen capture software. If anyone has any ideas, I will give you a cookie.
PS: And yes, I have tried torrenting. But because my ISP does not like torrenters, and I have no idea how to port forward this particular router, I can’t torrent effectively.

ParticipantI can use prtscn, but it’s rather laggy, often, it saves in .bmp format.
Also, it would involve me alt-tabbing out ever single time to Paste it into paint.
PS: Does camstudio take screenshots?

ParticipantJust use FRAPS. It’s the best there is for stuff like that.
You don’t always have to pay for it either, hint hint.
