Anyone know a way to disable the Fire in the Hole voiceover?

Would it be CAL legal to remove it?

That thing bothers me to no end…

change the .wav to something of your choice… or have it “play no sound.wav”

That could be part of the gcf and something you can’t change. I wouldn’t think so though.

you can create a new blank wav file, name it ct_fireinhole.wav, and point it to your cstrike/sound/radio/ folder. The radio folder doesent exist most likely, so you will need to create it.

    counter-strike source\cstrike\sound\radio\ct_fireinhole.wav

also try consol command is “ignorerad”

    CAL Rules:

    2.30 Customization

Players must use default models, weapons skins, heads-up display (“HUD”), point-of-view ("POV"), and sounds. Any use of enhanced or modified models, skins, sounds, HUD, POV, and/or sounds during match play may result in a match overturn and/or suspension of offending player(s).

PS: need GCFScape tolook in your cs folder

well technically you are not modifying a sound but deleting it. annd it wouldn’t be an advantage in game play other than you wouldn’t get annoyed.

im pretty sure that deleting sound would be modifying it…

While I can see how it might be annoying it’s a nice audio cue for me to look away because an idiot teammate is flashing in front of me (I do it sometimes too)
