I am actually really excited abou this idea now.
Just watch the Diablo 3 vid on their website and it looks so badass. I want to get it the day it comes out. The only thing I’m worried about is if I’d be able to run it well on my crap pc. But if I can I’m gonna be taking a LONG break from CS to play it because I was in awe watching that video.

monk+barb are melee witch+wiz are casting
it could be another caster OR another melee really.
something tells me they may go with a ranged guy – maybe a Hunter or something that can shoot arrows or some *edited*. they have had at least one character that is ranged in each diablo so far
I cant imagine what it could be really.

if they go by the theme of bringing back old characters, I’d imagine it’ll be something like a:
rogue from the 1st diablo or from act1 in diablo 2 (same thing kinda)
paladin-esk (although I hope not, but there are alot of fans of the holy-mc-hammer-man)
spartan – very similar to an amazon. you’ll be able to choose genders for any of the character types (i think) so yeah
now if they really went crazy; they could implement a special type character, like a slave driver or something similar. How cool will it be to be able to purchase more than one merc? Iono.
The Monk personally through me off, but in a good way. So I really don’t know what they might come at us with.
This game looks awesome, and is definitely something to look forward too.

It seems like they would be promoting that it is coming out christmas eve by now if it actually were. I think it will be a while still and it makes me a sad panda…
I hope they do something more along the lines of the assassin from the expansion of D2. I like the whole traps idea they did + range. I think that some time of lancer would be nice too tho a.k.a amazon/spartan.
I love pally auras tho. I wouldn’t mind that type of char either.
Either way…I am just gonna find the overpowered char and exploit it until they nerf him

I deleted it from my computer because what happens is…I get interested in d2 and I play for like 2 or 3 months…and as soon as i get a lot of good items, i quit again and by the time i go back and want to play, my accounts are gone and I am like…damnit. So…I have decided not to touch diablo until d3 comes out
I AM SO *edited*ING EXCITED.
P.S. Give me some good items and I will make the effort to join you for a few days sometime soon.

well the monk is the assassin equivalent. the monk will use claws/combat staves and what looks like aura type moves.
which kind of makes me think they may not put the paladin back in there.
They could give a hunter/rogue/ranger type player the old d2 assassins ability of traps. But that would make it very similar to wow’s hunter.
A spartan or hoplite type class would be pretty badass.
Something they haven’t done would be to introduce a fallen angel type or sanctified demon type. Tyreal style character. Only in my dreams tho lol

Wow…I read that whole convo and I hope to God that the new char is not another melee. There is no way the next char will not have ranged abilities.
Look at the line up in d2 classic…sorc(spells), Barb(melee), Paladin(melee/auras/HAMMA TIME), necro(spells/summons/curses), amazon(range all the way)
Then the new line up:wizard(spells), barb(melee), monk(melee/maybe auras??), witch doctor(spells and curses/maybe summons i dunno), then what?
I think this last guys is gonna be the typical ranger…not to ruin your fun with the talks of the last horadric…but I highly doubt they will be that AMAZING. They should mix the ranger with some auras tho…that would be baller and amazingly overpowered.

Lulz…it would be pretty baller if the last character was like a robot from the future which had plasma cannons instead of bows and arrows and the plasma was actually mana…

okay this is pretty interesting.
read a 2008 article which said this:

So you can rule out ranger and paladin. until the expansion at least.
Given the fact that that statement was made in 2008 and the face blizzard will not make up their mind until 2 weeks after the game has come out, I would say that it is all up in the air still.

I was thinking maybe they would do like an elven class which would be based on dexterity like a ranger would be except maybe it would have some other skills so it doesnt have to be a ranger.

a thief would be a good alternative to ranger.
what about a bombardier? like an explosives specialist of sorts. adds a range class to the list and i think it still may work as far as the era goes.

Surprisingly no word on a Horadric. Only thing that comes close would be “the ancient”.
So apparently there has been some hint at a Horadrim Warrior. the last class they are going to release was actually the first class, and one that they have been thinking about for a long time.
