Participantjust started a new char, paly lvl 5 right now, hxc, us-east
edit this is the char i am making
Stats
These are the stats I recommend:
· Strength – 40 Strength. Without items you should have 65 Strength total.
· Dexterity – Enough dexterity to have max block (with holy shield).
· Energy – None
· Rest into vitality (with hardly and points into Strength, your Vitality will be above 400 at high levels)
Skills
Prerequisites
20 – Zeal
20 – Fanaticism
20 – Sacrifice
20 – Charge
20 – Holy Shield
These are the skills you will have when you character is level 95+. I listed the skills in order that you should max them as you level your character.
Gear
This is all the top end gear hard to find but the best.
Weapon: Botd Eth Zerker axe with 380+ ed.
Gloves: Either Steelrends or Draculs, both are good for PvP but I suggest Steelrends.
Rings: 2 x Crafter ring with dual leach, high Strength (10+), high Dexterity (10+) and res.
Amulet: Highlords Wrath. Use this for the +1 skills, ias, deadly strike, and lightning dmg.
Belt: Verdungos with 15 dr and 40 Vitality. 40 Vitality is a huge bonus, remember the more life you have the longer you live!
Armor: Enigma Dusk Shroud. This is extremely important for this paladin. With this you will be moving as fast as a sorc, killing faster, and also living longer.
Helm: Crown of Ages with 2 sockets and 15dr. The +1 skills, damage reduce, and 2 sockets makes this helm godly for duels.
Shield: Either Herald Of Zakarum (um’ed) with +4 combat skills and excellent block rate makes this a great shield for this build, or a Eth Exile with High Ed/Def, this gives the Defiance aura which makes it harder for them to hit you, it also has other great mods.
Boots: Either Marrowwalk or Sandstorm Trek. Both of these boots are good for a Hammeridian, so which ever you prefer.
Charms: 1x Annihilus (stats are more important then other mods)
7 x 5% fhr sc’s until you reach 5 frames.
as many 5 res all sc’s as you need to reach max resists in hell.
Then fill your inventory with 3/20/20’s or 290’s until you have 32 small charms.
On switch have HoZ and Call to Arms. For Battle Command and Battle Orders.

I usually play USEast, but I don’t really care as long as we can get a full crew =)
How’d you wanna do it, because I know some people have different ironman’s, like no assassin trap trees, no direct damage spells from necro/sorc, things like that.
Of course, no purchasing items from town/no talking to NPC’s without (!) above their heads, and no grinding in the same place twice (which is impossible without leaving if we try to bang it out in one day) are rules I’ve always known.

*edited* we normally play
no pots/mana
No Prayerdins/Psn Javs/Psy Hammer
Every1 Lvl’s Together//Town at 9
and then 5 mins to build gear/buy
What is your definition of Ironman? lol
June 29, 2009 at 1:00 pm #87783rcon_l@nce
ParticipantWell, D1 ironman used to be 3 people, each as 1 of the 3 characters, leaves town and doesn’t come back until either Diablo is dead or the party is dead. I’ve played ironmen similar to that.
I’ve never heard of no life/mana pots before, but that might make it a nice difficult ironman =)
Like I said, I’ve heard a few different rule sets before, but I’m willing to do anything.
Hmm, I just thought of something.
It just struck me that there is PvP ironman competitions and then there is Co-op Ironman (just a run-through).
Which one are YOU thinking of?
I was thinking of a run-through =P

Well, basically a group of 8 (co-op) or multiple groups, called Tournament (2 groups of 2,3,4 or 4 groups of 2 or w/e) play the same way.
Players can only use items they find out in the wild.
Items cannot be repaired.
Players cannot be NPC healed unless you are getting/completing a quest from it.
Only items that can be purchased are Tomes.
In Co-Op, players simply try to make their way to the end of the game and, if they can, continue onto Nightmare/Hell difficulty either right after or at another time.
In Tournament, players RACE to defeat Baal using the same rules as above. Usually it’s alot more work to do this because certain things give certain point amounts and people can lie/forget/whatever and scores can be unreliable. Some people usually use Waypoints/Unique Item finds/Unique monster kills/etc. to award points.
Also, some Ironman Co-op bans certain skills that are deemed “rigged” although in Nightmare/Hell, these “rigged” skills suck *edited* without godly equipment, lol
All characters are HC. If you die, sucks to be you.

So Co-Op is jusdt untwinked but with harder restrictions on healing and buying
And Tourney you need teams? So you party together and race to the end? How do quests work? Free for all, or do u all party together and be nice and give the quest to others?

Sure thing! =)
I can set up a TS server or something so we can actually talk to each other.
Now we just need 8 people.
1. Me
2. Major?
3. Rainey
4,5,6,7,8?
We could always wing it with less.
Here’s a decent explination of Ironman.
http://forums.diii.net/showthread.php?t=669463&gr_i_ni
We can always bend the rules if we need it.
(Like Bronzeman allows repairing/healing whenever you need)
But I’d prefer to go for the straight Ironman =)

I don’t care when we do it. Lets just set a day/night that everyone is free.
We can always pick it up where we left off at last waypoint/difficulty.
So we’ve got 4 now =)

ParticipantWell, to be totally honest with you – it was confirmed and then the confirmation was removed from the site. So where does that leave us? I guess it’s the usual secrecy surrounding any Blizz project.
Diablo movieHere’s the LONG story:
The guys from Legendary Pictures (yep, the guys behind 300) have posted on their site that a Diablo movie is in the making. Diablo was listed in the “In Development” section.
Once the news about the movie leaked to fan sites, Diablo was promptly removed. My guess is it was a phone call from Blizzard that got them going.
Besides these facts, we have the following:
1. Legendary Pictures are already working on a WoW-based movie, so they look like an obvious choice for a Blizzard project.
2. Vin Diesel’s movie – A Man Apart – was originally named El Diablo which resulted in a lawsuit from Blizzard “claiming they trademarked Diablo and intended to make a movie based on their game”
I’m hoping and praying a Diablo movie is in the making. I loved the Diablo 2 cinematics and making the next logical step – the big screen – will be an amazing experience.

This would be amazing but I hope its cgi and not live action for a couple of reasons. CGI would look better. And who would play the chars?

Lastest news was that in the WC realms there was some bug that threatened the lives of man and had to be fixed before d2 patch came out. So now that that test realm is up, should be around a week until they get that squared away and work on the d2 patch again. Then about 2 weeks of working, plus 2 weeks of test realm, then the ladder reset after that. (i assume) so… prob august lol

Participantfine with me just didnt want to make a sick *edited* char and have it get dropped into reg realm with getting some of the awesome ladder *edited* before hand.
