ParticipantThere is like one netbook out there where it MIGHT work and its the ASUS N10J with the geforce 9300.
Notebookreview on the ASUS N10J said:
Using Steam we pulled in Half-Life 2 and tweaked the visual settings to be easier on the system. With the resolution set to 1024×600 and most settings on medium the system average 20-25fps, which was playable, but still under what you would want for smooth gaming. Heavy action scenes dropped the framerate into the mid-teens, and if you weren’t lucky, got yourself killed in no time.Eventually when netbooks start coming out with the nvidia ION chipset, you might be able to play CSS at low quality settings.
Any computer (netbook or otherwise) running intel gma 950 absolutely cannot run CSS. End of discussion. If its any consolation, 1.6 will at least run on pretty much everything made within the past decade.

ParticipantThe next generation of netbooks will have the newer Intel processor and should be MUCH better at gaming.
Or so I hear.

Ask Nickname how his free upgrades went.
That doesn’t always mean a new and better machine.

Didn’t you have to break it several times before they sent an upgrade?

ParticipantHow did you exactly break it? Because besides the 5 times I sent it back to Hp, they kept giving me it back repaired. So hopefully I can *edited* it up to the point when they just give me a new one (hopefully slightly better).

ParticipantHP has a different service philosophy than Dell.
Short of absolutely destroying it there’s not much you can do that they won’t be willing to fix as opposed to Dell where if it might take a little time and effort they just toss you a refurb replacement. Sometimes you get lucky and get a better model but sometimes not.

Fedex will only replace it if the item’s value was specifically declared when it was shipped and a fee paid for insuring an item above the standard $100 value.
In all cases, you have to be able to prove the actual value of the item lost or damaged.

Participanthp tries to give you your same *edited* back but with *edited*ter components in it.

I meant fedex, not HP…and I believe it was insured for its proper value…but I may have found it…
