ParticipantSo I’ve been a 1.6 player for a couple years now and I’ve never played Source. Lately, I’ve been thinking about buying source to try it out. What are some of the differences between Source and 1.6?

ParticipantI’m not getting it so I will lag less, I’d be getting for it a new game to play and to see what it’s like.

Participantwell it’s LIKE 1.6 but plays a little different. Honestly there are other better games to buy if you want to actually try something new.

ParticipantTF2 and L4D are both great additions to any Steam account.
Although neither will play on your current computer.

Just ask yourself this. If you really want a new game then do not get CSS. It is more of a different experience than a different game. You will have same guns, generally the same maps, and same 4 *edited* cts and ts. If you are just looking for a change of scenery, then get CSS because that is what it is. It’s prettier but a lot of the same thing.
There are millions of games out there, good and bad that you can try. List what you currently play and we can help match you to something in your genera that is different and good at the same time. Also dload some demos from steam. There are so many and it’s a good way to find games that you might enjoy.

L4D is amazing. TF2 is weaksauce, I bought it to play with some old Diablo 2 friends, but totally couldn’t get into the class-system. I know I know, selecting a class is as easy as selecting/buying a gun in CS….it’s just the game play is totally different.
