I downloaded it the day I could . I must say its pretty freakin sweet, looks amazing too.

freeman ragged me for it saying is was going to be a average shooter, but once he played it he took that back. the nanosuit and how smart the enemies are makes it sooo much fun.

Crytek has always had great AI, dating back to FarCry and such. But the suit, the AI, etc are just awesome from what I’ve seen.

Crysis == FarCry on acid, regardless of what anyone else says. And that’s not a bad thing, FarCry is an awesome game. Awesome on acid = I want that game soooooo bad

When is the last time you’re played farcry? Yes, I have played the Crysis demo, how are they not the same?

Farcry: you are talked to by a guy on a walkie talkie

Crysis: you are talked to by a squad leader on a walkie talkie

 

Farcry: you can only hold x number of weapons at a time

(wow, they really changed things up on us!)

 

Ok, now the differences:

Crysis has the cool modes for the suit and automatically regenerates armor and health (a la Halo)

FarCry on the other hand has the (annoying) health/armor packs.

 

If you want to think of the difference between the games on a purely functional level, the difference is pretty much Call of Duty vs Call of Duty 2; they have some differences but fundamentally it is the same game.

The story, gameplay, and AI are really different, like I said, have you even played the demo? or just read stuff on it?

 

farcry was more run and gun while crysis is more tactical.

 

the story is different and the enviroment changes through the game, its not a tropical paradise all the way through.

 

And the AI are about 10x smarter in crysis.

I would hope the AI is smarter on crysis; it is a much newer game. I think they are equally tactical; farcry even moreso I think because you have to conserve your health in farcry whereas you don’t in crysis (since it regenerates). I agree that the environment does change in Crysis but that alone doesn’t make it completely different from FarCry.

 

BTW, I HAVE played the demo, which is why I have such a strong opinion on the matter. And I just recently played some of farcry so I do know what I am talking about.
