Can you give us a list of games you’re interested in playing on it? It’ll help us gauge what you need.

you can build a computer that plays left 4 dead for $500 (not including monitor/keyboard/mouse).

As for buying a prebuilt computer… you are probably looking at closer to $1000 (not including monitor) for something that can game decently

anything that’s cheap and has good ratings will work

    anything on this page

this is a good cpu cooler

i’d also recommend getting a 9800gtx+ instead of that 9800gt

Remember you get what you pay for.

I highly recommend Sony/Optiarc and LG. I have used nothing but Sony drives and they are solid.

As for a CPU, don’t screw with a barebone. If just one piece is broke you usually have to send the whole thing back. If you order a processor, get a retail chip that comes with a heatsink/fan. The last thing you want to do is order a 2nd rate heatsink and be out all your money because it died and took the chip with it. In essence, get an Intel retail processor. You’ll be happier.
