After years of delay, the North American Club Nintendo has finally been launched. By registering products and filling out serveys, you get an online currency which can be used to purchase exclusive merchandise. Unfortunatley, I used to throw out most of those registration sheets that came with Wii/DS games, so I don’t have many coins right now, but it will slowly grow. In about two years, I’ll have enough coins to get a deck of Hanafuda cards, or maybe that sweet Game and Watch collection!
You know they have been doing this in Japan for a while now (I think somewhere around 4 years). Yea, I wish I could get some of that exclusive stuff but I don’t think I ever will sinc Nintendo seems to be in that “We aren’t going to release anything good phase in the near future phase”. And if they would, I would be more than excited about Club N but until then, I’m not even going to hold my breath.

There have been a dozen versions of Club Nintendo in different countries for the last few years. They waited awhile to start up the US branch. The problem is that the only good looking Nintendo products being released in the foreseeable future are Punch Out Wii and the DSi. Nintendo picked a lousy time to start the club. Still, I’m going to keep up withit until I can afford something.
