My new map is de_salvage, which is a pretty apt name. it’s a salvage yard. it’s got some tunnels, two cranes as the bomb targets, and of course, when it’s finished, there will be a bunch of junk laying around that you can hide behind.
it takes quite a few hours, at least for me. I’m not very good at it, but thru online tutorials and such you can find ur way around. I don’t have to do any coding. you just make the map in Hammer, which comes with source SDK, then compile it also using Hammer. then you open up counter-strike and it’s there in ur create server menu. It really does take quite a bit of time. For one thing, you gotta have an idea for a map, then you gotta put it onto paper or something. then put it onto hammer. Then you’ve got to apply the textures, add models, put in the detail. Actually, Pink Monkey #4 is more experienced with mapmaking than i am. you might ask him if you’ve got any questions.
lol. Liam supporters we deff. are. I haven’t been on as much lately b/c i’ve been working on a new map. Also i went on spring break for a few days. however, i will be on shortly to be doing some admin-ing if necessary.

That can’t be just coincidence can it? Even if the video was sped up or slowed down, the transitions and everything wouldn’t sync up. Crazy stuff.
aight. didn’t mean to jump the gun. just wasn’t sure where the rotation went. I actually like it much better than voting.
i’ve been on a bit since the rotation went up and i’ve got to say i like it so much better than voting and being at the mercy of idiots.
amen to that ephraim. I actually don’t even watch the news anymore. i get depressed everytime i hear about a new bombing or some other b.s.

i’m sorry. i’m all for giving maps a second chance and all that, but if havana is put in the rotation, it will empty the server. I’m sorry raine, but havana is just a bad idea. even if it is a cool map, people don’t know it, and they don’t wanna take the time to learn it. Plus the fact that it changes every round doesn’t help.
sorry for the double post, but i agree with yahooearth about tides. I’m pretty sure it would kill the server pretty quick. guess i scanned over the maps too quickly to see it.
I really like that map rotation! however, i would like to ask you to please reconsider only 10 minutes of sk3. That’s a great map. At least 15-20 minutes.

oh, and there seems to be an awful lot of dust 2. perhaps we could squeeze dust 1 into there?

For example, say we have office, dust2, inferno, and assault all up at the same time. nine non *edited* people vote for the first three, but that splits the vote three ways so each map has three, then four die hard people vote for assault and assault is the map even though most of the server didn’t want it. i have seen this happen too many times.my solution is to have two tiers of map voting. throw up a random vote with 6 or 7 options as usual, then if no one option received over 50% of the votes, do a second vote with only the top 2 or 3 choices of the first vote shown. that way any map that gets chosen at least 50% of the server population wants. thus, less people will drop out because they will want to play certain maps and then three or four crazy people can’t kill the server in 5 minutes.

I believe i was on at the same time as roger, and i was annoyed. i can’t remember exactly what it was, but it was either mic spamming, or chat spamming. just my input.
The Rock is a good one. haven’t seen it in ages tho. I’d like to add Moulin Rouge to the list. Although it is a musical, and thus a chick flick, i do like the story…
