anyone know how to turn the ps3 into a medic center? and will it play .mkv file types? or better yet what file types can it play? Apparently you can connect a USB hard drive to it, but i guess mine just does not work…
It appears the 11.6″ ultra portables are right inline with what I was wanting out of a laptop. A bit better than a mini but not a super beast like many laptops. I don’t really care to much about boot time as long as its not dragging ships when up and running. Good to know about user serviceable parts, I always just assumed the HD and RAM were always user serviceable? Is there a list out there comparing these mid sized laptops?
PS: does Acer have a refurbished site like dell and hp’s “outlet”
The Acer 1430 is looking cash by specs, cant find a price so i guess its not out yet?

Also, I have a 500GB 2.5″ Sata HD from the old HP, If i get a laptop with a small drive to save cash would I be-able to swap this in or does it already need to have an OS on it? Or should I just get the largest HD that comes standard?

Dell’s Mini10 was looking pretty promising, still waiting for something to become a good value. Do the big names typically have a sale before or after christmas? I haven’t been in the market for a pc in 5 years kinda behind in the research dept.

Looks like i’m going to skimp on the media center option for now, maybe i’ll be better off with burning dvd’s for now or figuring out how to make the playstation play them.
Anything to lookout for whe buying used laptops of craigslist/ebay (other than scams).

Apparently when you wait until you’re truely hungry the body changes the matabolism rate so that more of the food you eat is stored (fat) as opposed to if you eat when you’re only slightly hungry. You also eat less because you’re only mildly hungry and it takes much less food to feel “full”. Since the metabolism stays in “burn mode” all day, you actually burn more calories and store less as fat.

The PC VP hasn’t been on the forums in a month. You’re probably better off just not putting rules on the fliers at this point.

also the rules will add alot of clutter and people will not want to read more than a few lines on any flyer.
Get with an exec. We get 200 to 250 full color flyers free through the print shop on campus via reslife funding.

I have given up hope of maintaining a community that is ran by crackhead and retards. I cannot foresee the servers becoming populated again nor do I see these forums lasting much longer. This benchmark thread here has been the only reason I still came back to the forums every day long after the servers and club turned a direction I choose not to follow. Even now its post consist of things I can pm you about or see on your facebooks. Now that this thread has reached 2000 posts and over 100 pages I can be content in my decision to leave the discussion for good.
I love all of you who I have gamed with for the past 3-4 years. Most of you are still on my steam list so I can still keep in contact and I still hope to see you guys around as I’ll hop on to play in L4D2 or TF2. I think I have nearly all of you on Facebook and if not you are on Steam.
You can remove my admin and all that if you wish.
