What i like about chrome is it’s minimalist and doesn’t clutter as much as other browsers, but you cant beat good ol firefox.

If you’re still having problems, download this and follow the readme. There was a virus that spread around WCU a few years back that had similar syptoms to your problem.

    http://www.wcu.edu/it/ITS/software/downloads/rinbotfix.zip

If you’re running Vista then go ahead and reformat as the Vista versions if this sort of virus are extremely hard to completely remove.

Trying to fix it sure beats reformatting. That’s something the CRIB noobs jump to first. Are you a CRIB noob?

no but i dont pretend to know what the problem is when i cant sit there and diagnose it myself.

that’s what i’d say. it’s the only surefire way to absolutely KNOW you killed the virus. however, if ur rents have ridiculous amounts of crap on the their comp, then it would prolly be easier to try and fix it first.

this thinking is beyond bad its so wrong if you do not clear the bios it doesn’t matter if you format or not it will reinfect from the bios . safe thing have a mobo that has die hard bios so there isn’t a way for the bios to be hurt 2ND clear your bios before and after you do a format

BTW when was the last time the cookies for the browsers were cleaned out as this can cause the problem you are describing

Winsockfix to be safe, combofix and SDfix, then I would run hijackthis and google anything unfamiliar.

What’s the matter? Don’t you like HijackThis? I love it.

I don’t mind it now that it actually helps solve the problem. I hated previous versions that never really told you what was going on, it was almost useless unless you had something really tricky.
