Spectatorhow about everyone stop harassing gameover for something he said however many threads ago. So he said it, there are alot of people who say alot of things, however extreme. There is no sense in jabbing at it, just ignore it.

Thus proving my retarded theory.Because people don’t look at what they’ve done to provoke things. I said it and I meant it. I have countless numbers of things “Americans” have “done” to provoke such an attack but because all you can do is bash me for pointing out the obvious I will not post anything further. Just like I said before.

Although I don’t condone what happen in 9/11 or any terrorist attacks for that matter, you can’t deny the fact that there are different point of views in the world. To say that any other viewpoint is wrong, while America’s is 100% right is kind of foolish to me. I think the validity of one’s argument is typically based on how rational it is.
Unfortunately Game Over there is nothing you can say to justify what happen on September 11th. And there is no rational argument that exists to justify such a horrible thing. I’m not bashing you GameOver, but until you can provide some unknown rational base for what you said, I’ll have to agree with everyone else, that statement is retarded lol.

SpectatorIt is not a justification it is a reason. A reason does not have to justify something. By justifying something you are saying it is right.

Then again, they did get screwed hard…

Just to get a little further off topic:
The far majority of American Indian deaths that occured after the European colonists came to the continent were a result of disease that the colonists didn’t even realise they were spreading. It was overwhelmingly tragic, but in recent years it has been set aside in favor of a propagandic theory that the US Military held a policy of extermination towards the Indians. They didn’t, although there were several unjustifiable incidents of attrocities.

They didn’t, although there were several unjustifiable incidents of attrocities. That is not true at all. I don’t think one intelligent person would believe we were trying to “exterminate” the Indian population. But I do believe some individuals had private agendas to get rid of the natives any way they saw fit. Like major said look at Andrew Jackson. You are right in the fact that disease is what did the most damage. Disease IS the favorable theory on why the native population dwindled. Disease is the main reason every new world conquest ended the way it did (along with guns and steel).
What was messed up about the whole deal wasn’t the fact we killed a bunch of Indians. It was the back-stabbing, the lying, the false promises, that were so tragic. And probably more of the reason why a Native American would not like the US.
we sure can derail a thread faster than a kid in the special olympics

It’s basically a movie. Don’t believe everything you see in the movies. duh
and since when were Emmys and HBO mini-series equated with intellect or historical accuracy?

SpectatorWithout doubt there were genocidal *edited*s who commited attrocities against the Indians, but I’m just saying that a lot of people have turned those rare (and admitedly horrible) incidents into inaliable proof that America was founded on the suffering of natives. From what I’ve heard over the years, the role of disease has been downplayed and the malicous actions of colonists have been overstated while the attrocities commited by Indians against colonists and other Indians have been erased from history.
One of my favorite quotes on the subject:
“The exhibit points out that disease was the chief cause of suffering after European contact. Therefore, horrors that beset tha Ancient Americans following 1492 would have happened if the Nina, Pinta, and the Santa Maria had been manned by Jimmy Carter, the Dalai Lama, and Bono.” –P.J. O’Rourke

Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies
By: Jared Diamond
the title speaks for itself, but you ought to read it. It basically answers why the colonists in all of the Americas succeeded and natives failed.

I am already aware of all that. A combination of disease, rapid immigration from Europe, and the technological superiority of the colonists assured the destruction of the Indian tribes’ cultures. It just kinda *edited*es me off how some people characterize the founding of the country as a series of attrocities without any cause for celebration.
In summary: Pocahontas was the worst movie Disney Animation Studios made, with the possible exception of Home on the Range.

SpectatorObama is ridiculously stressed…none of us could ever handle it, bush and McCain AND Palin all made major slip of the tongues during campaigns and bush’s presidency, your not winning me over with 1 stupid mistake.
I.E. of McCain:
reporter:what do you say to the mass amounts of cigarette exports to Iran?
McCain: well, that’s one way to kill ’em
I.E. Palin:
long story short, she cant say if she ever read a new article, or what a vice president does.
I.E. bush:
Is our children learning? plus much much more
BTW: masterP, we stopped giving bush passes cuz he needed way to many, gets a little tiring after a while.
side note: palins hunting lodge just made alaskin snow wolf join the endangered species list W00000T good work
