I know Brown may be attractive because of space but you may just want to get the multi-purpose rooms and call it win, the last LAN that was hosted in there was successful.

Yea thats what I have been hearing. Im trying to weigh my options.

    Oh Lord…

Please tell me we aren’t doing the Cat’s Den argument AGAIN

Use the search button at the top, put “MasterP” as the author and “cat’s den” as the search string. Read every post it finds for why doing an event there is a terrible idea.

I can’t say you aren’t doing anything wrong, we just view this club more as a family but to you it is more of a business….whatever.

since we are playing games we want to play and having fun instead of just worrying about making the most money i dont think its being viewed as a business.

The meetings are just as important as the LANs are.

Enough people showing up to vote a game in is the work that must be done to reap the reward of having the game at the LAN.

If you don’t work for a reward, don’t whine when you don’t get it.

(Don’t get me wrong, I am all for the rule Shingi suggested a while back of having the highest attended games voted in automatically.)

seriously. the more likely someone is to come to the meeting to vote the more likely a person will show up at the LAN. everyone can complain abotu not getting their game voted in because they live however many hours away. if they live that far away there is no way to guarantee they will show up. even with their word to many things from there to here can happen to make them not show up. however people already on campus are far more likely to show up.

If that’s the case then you should really try harder to give at least a weeks notice on your meeting times or even Two weeks… 3 days notice and having to travel on a Thursday night is a hell of a lot different than a month and a Saturday for a LAN

that is true. however it is also true the more likely a person will show up is related to how close they are.

You need a history lesson on why this club was founded and why we’ve been given so much money from Reslife over the years.

Seems like none of the new members have a clue what the club’s objective is. It’s not to simply play video games, that’s for *edited* sure. If you want to know where “just to play the video games we like” will get you take a look at ASU’s high entry fees and NCSU’s zero support from the university.

The club’s SOLE purpose is to bring prospective students to WCU, increase student retention and to keep them on campus. Granted, by serving the needs of prospective students, you should therefore serve the needs of current students and alumni concurrently.

We need to remember what we are doing here. This is why we are given so much money from WCU. Because we can prove that we do indeed bring students to WCU and have increased student retention. We are a family. The original founders are still around. The club was founded Spring 2005 and as you can tell 5 years later (long after the original founders left,2006) the club is still here. Please remember as you discuss things, that we are all here for a common purpose-the purpose of the club. We encourage a healthy environment of online gaming. Whether that takes place on a PC or Console.

If any one has any questions about the history of the club, what it is about, the constitution as it was originally written, the purpose of the club-feel free to ask.
