can anyone explain to me why the panthers didnt at least TRY to sign peppers to a long term contract? the only reason I can think of is if they were worried about the possible lockout in 2011 and didnt want to sign anyone long term until that is settled. I mean I don’t think anyone is worth the 20 mil+ it would cost to franchise him again but goddamnit we need him.
