ive played for like 4hrs between yesterday and today but im so scared my sorc is gunna die half the time i spend running!

yeah i dump 2lvls into strength but the rest now is going into vit

it’s a fairly cheap game… you can get a bundle for 19.99 some places with d2+ expansion

i say it’s worth it, there is still ahuge community that plays and i cannot imagine it dying in the face of d3

lol im hoping to go buy diablo 2 tomorrow. i went to walmart and gamestop today to get it and all they had was the battle chest for $40 and all i had was 25 so i gotta go back tomorrow with moar $$$.

Yeah, I looked on the blizzard online store and they sell like the pack of 3 diablo expansion things and its $20 but they either have to ship it to you or just give you the key. But since I don’t have a credit card I’m SOL anyways.

tried to shake it off and 2 days later lvl 89 RidenBiden died to gloams in World Stone Chamber

didn’t play for 2 weeks

but thats the good thing about HC too, you are able to find your limits and deal with them, you learn to survive almost everything and it’s more fun i feel

i dunno i just dont get excited for SC characters like i do for HC characters

So…i’ve wasted a lot of time in d2, and i thought i’d share that with you guys

i’d like to begin with a story, me and some of the people i work with have been doing challenges at work, we’ve done three so far, who can eat 20 soft tacos in 1 hour (i got to 11), run a half mile eat a dozen donuts run half a mile (like the krispy kreme challenge at NCState only smaller) and eat 50 chicken mcnuggets ( only 10.91 after tax what a *edited*ing deal) and after finishing 50 nuggets i went home and finished my bow summoner and that marked the end of all the diablo2 characters i really felt like making, then i made a bunch of new ones, but i won’t make those go up to level 50 before starting nightmare, it’s just not worth doing another 1000 baal runs.

i used atma to move items around from character to character because i was tired of getting stuff and not being able to use it, cheating? maybe but it made me enjoy having more powerful and ultimately made some characters much more tolerable.

i guess i’ll post up screenshots and talk about each one a little

like all sorcs this one is a beast, i went for static field and some lightning, i dunno why cause i thought for sure i was gonna make a meteororb sorc, but i guess that this isn’t one, oh well

blizzard and lightning storm, a meteorologist, i had thought that lightning storm dealt more damage than that, man lightning storm is a really *edited* disappointing skill, but what can you do

cold arrow amazon, i was surprised at how effective she was, pretty much went through without any real problems

fist of heavens pally, he was pretty solid towards the end, there was a rough patch in trying to get to the fist, *edited* takes WAY to long to get to and mostly the casting delay is annoying, but i’d love to see him vs only undead, act 2 nightmare should be fairly interesting

a chargadin, with sanctuary as one of his auras to make him a true holy warrior, his ar is beastly, he was a blast as he pretty much raped everything that was in front of him, only some problems with diablo and that lightning.

a hammerdin, *edited*ing boring, i never did like the blessed hammer, but he kills *edited* good

a passive skills amazon, oh my god what a dumbass idea, but you know, i *edited*ing did it and with decent enough equipment she’s moderately enjoyable

a berserker, i kinda made two on accident but whatever, i meant for this guy to be as tough as possible, and i hope that i can continue to buff this guy into the war machine that he should be

a leap attack barb, i like leap attack but i think it should be animated so you attack while in mid-air not once you land, but whatever. i used concentrate for the longest time before converting to the war cry leap attack setup, which i think is a lot of fun

whirly barb, he was interesting, but i dunno, i’m not a fan of whirlwind

man when i first started diablo2, you know way back in middle school, i thought *edited* pallys i want barbs and sorcs and *edited*, pallys are for *edited*. Man pallys are so *edited* versatile and powerful, it’s not even fair, especially to the poor barbs. typical avenger style build, i lucked into that axe which is great with the conviction aura

i wanted a spear barb, i also wanted to make a zealot, so i combined the two and made kyle. nothing special but he got *edited* done

an axe frenzy barb, i wanted to give axes a try, i wasn’t really impressed, i do like me some frenzy though

let me start off with this, primus was not my first melee necro, that dubious honor goes to septimus who is a piece of *edited*, in fact necromancers in general did not impress me, the only one who did was temperance and that was after i FINALLY got past teeth, *edited* teeth *edited*. i feel like nercos just got shafted and they are the weakest of the characters. primus is a cool guy, but seriously, *edited* nercos

man, *edited* this guy, the only reason he was even able to hit fifty was cause i broke down and took the angelic rings off galahad and the angelic ammy and buffed this *edited*s AR to the acceptable levels. *edited* this guy

remington suffered from the beginning, he had to deal with my interest in vengeance and in fanaticism, and thus the fanatic vengeance pally was made, he kills things and he’s different, thats about all i got

rowan is a fissure druid, which means he’s stupid, but you know what, i enjoyed using him, he raped the groups while doing baal runs. switching to firestorm he killed baal at an ok pace, all in all he wasn’t a bad guy, plus he played runemill for me

a werebear, cause *edited* werewolves, he worked ok, i’m not a fan of maul and i think some of the skills a druid gets are meh, but you know what, he killed *edited* well enough that i didn’t want to either kill myself or anyone else around me like the necros did

selene is a beast, sure she chugged mana and health potions like an addict but she *edited*ing wrecked *edited* and made every boss her *edited*, i’m proud of her, truly

*edited* this guy, i know what he did, you know what he did, even he knows what he did. granted he was the first melee necro, but *edited*, i *edited*ed up with him

the first berserk barb, he does more concentrate than gutsu does, but same basic idea, he also isn’t designed to be as much of a tank as gutsu

sophia came from a floppy disk from my desk drawer and then i leveled her up, she came from v1.07 or something, she was old school, i dunno why i picked hydra, i guess i hate myself or something

a failadin, or sacrifice pally, he’s silly, he also has aboue 43% lifesteal or some such nonsense, it was an entertaining build but i don’t see it going very far

i wanted to see what maxing prayer and stuff would do, i wasn’t impressed, also *edited* mediation, what a crock of *edited*

i believe i’ve said that temperance was a good necro, bone spear and bone spirit are powerful and i like them, everything else necro i have no time for

how can poison dagger be so bad? *edited*, it makes me cry, poison nova was nifty, i’ll admit that but man *edited* pdagger

sword frenzy barb, a lotta fun, will buff speed as much as possible until the game crashes

my only assassin, i dunno, they just never really interested me, but she worked ok, especially once i got the rattlecage drop

I’m looking at building a PVM bowazon with the following:

Strafe: 20

Penetrate: 20

Decoy: 20

Valkyrie: 20

Critical Strike: 5-10

Evade: 5-10

 

Thoughts? I’ve already started and am ignoring this build atm but ladder characters chan respec their skills once and I’ll probably start this build around lvl 40 or so.

 

Your ice equivalent looks pretty decent though, how does it handle hoardes?

pretty well, but remember that freezing time will decrease by half and then half again as you go through the diffficulties
