SpectatorDo you guys not consider the server before you choose maps??
We have tried blitz, deagleknives, and Nuke…
Blitz is the same as fire/strata, it kills the server because unless it is set for 5 minutes, it gets boring as *edited*…if you set the time to 5 minutes, then I’m game…
Nuke was taken out because it KILLED THE SERVER with a 15-20 minute slot…it is just like assault/aztec where it is way too one sided to play long minutes in our pub…
And deagleknives had worse popularity than deagle5 has…but deagle5 does need to get put back in…
So I would definitely go back and check as to WHY these maps were taken out in the first place before we go making a vote and having all these new people say yes to the maps when they have cleared the server in the past, and will do the same in the future…
**edit**
And nightfever, although loved by myself, has the same popularity as deagleknives had…

SpectatorDust 2 will never be overplayed, because it is the best map to populate a server…it MUST be in the rotation at least 2 times…

SpectatorSee the difference between the old rotation and the new one is simple. The old one is *edited*.
point and fact.Yahoo, i <3 when you rip people’s ideas apart on this forum. It makes me happy in the pants if you know what i mean…gingers!

And yes, I do suck.
Back on topic: What is MasterP’s take on all of this? Looking at the results, clearly fire does not have the support it needs to stay in the rotation.

SpectatorI’ve been under the impression that if non-exec starts a vote like this…it won’t be taken seriously, regardless of the results.
look at the other vote that banana tried to make. point and fact

SpectatorThe problem is that some maps require a knowledge of how the map works or the team working as a cohesive unit.
in a pub these to requirements sometimes aren’t met
Chupa and I lead a t team on prodigy to roll the cts, and let’s face it Chupa was the real strength, it’s possible, but you have to accept that somebody will die, and in a pub there is little incentive to work as a team, especially if you aren’t a regular. It’s the highway effect, you’ll never find that black volvo again, let alone know who is in it, so they are free to be a colossal *edited* and you are stuck taking it. Regulars help solve this problem as they have played the maps and therefore know how to take advantage of how the maps are constructed and can act in getting the team to work as a unit.
Maps like Nuke, Dust1, Aztec, Assault, Militia and probably a few others (maybe strata, i dunno for sure) are very crucial about the team working as a unit. If the T’s (mostly, except for assault) don’t man up and rush their asses of, then the cts will just roll them for pretty much the whole round, *edited*sux when you are on the losing team. This is were use of admin powers enters a grey area, or at least for me, balancing the teams. I’ve done it only rarely, but the admins i think should take note of who can change the balance and if one side is at a disadvantage due to the maps construction, then i suggest taking some of the better players and putting them on that side.
Havana is the only dynamic map there is, that i know of, it is also probably the best cs (hostage) rescue map. I would shove it down peoples throats because it is simply that good. But i understand that because things aren’t the same every round, and the map is confusing even past the doors, but that works to both sides advantage, cts can run in and out in 40 seconds, maybe even less, and rescue all the hosties. I would put it in for 10 minutes since most people don’t stick around for the full 20.
Crane was pretty good, and Tides is great with a small amount of people, it’s a great just man up and rush map. Some maps you’ll never be able to get rid of. Italy, Office, Inferno, Dust2, Piranesi, Mill these are all good maps and most people enjoy playing on them.
I think that in the past there have been good rotations, this recent one, to me, hasn’t seemed all that great, but that’s my opinion.

The other night when I was intoxicated, this caused me to rage quit because my team on season was just too retarded…

I used to ALWAYS do this on an extremely one sided map when we didn’t have the auto balancer, and I still feel I used to be the only admin(that I saw) that would actually attempt to balance the teams…and in situations like these maps, it is almost always a good idea to keep the team that should be winning, losing. Just because if the ct’s keep rolling on Prodigy, then the T’s get butthurt, and camp. But if the ct’s keep losing, then they might actually keep trying hard because the map is very very win’able as a CT…just my thoughts…
Havana is the only dynamic map there is, that i know of, it is also probably the best cs (hostage) rescue map. I would shove it down peoples throats because it is simply that good. Have my babies?? PLEASE?!?!! And *edited* ten minute, put that *edited* in for 30!!!!

Crane is also one of the most balanced maps there was, but since it was “new”, not many people gave it a chance…
And I will disagree with you on Tides, because if the T’s rush B(the site the ct’s don’t spawn in), and smoke the underpass/bridge, then I guarantee that they will win 100% of the time, it is just that easy…But I do love me some tides as well…
And there is no reason to get rid of some of those maps like Office/Inferno/Dust2(overplayed)/Pira/Mill because those are the best most balanced and most populating maps in the game. Simple as that.
I think that in the past there have been good rotations, this recent one, to me, hasn’t seemed all that great, but that’s my opinion.
I personally enjoyed when we voted on the next map and did not have an actual rotation…but that’s just me…I’m not sure if this is possible, but if it were up to me, I would do something along the lines of vote 3 maps, then map the 4th map Dust2/office/inferno/mill depending on which one of those was not played most recently, then the next 3 would vote again…but I’m just spitballing here…
But I like the rotation now because it is large, and there are a lot more maps played that used to rarely get voted in…such as fire(WIN), strata(WIN), chateau(win if CT), and prodigy(WIN)…
I can haz cookie nao?

I <3 you
i wasn’t a fan of map voting, the server stays fuller with a rotation, but i respect your opinion.

I DID, AND I LOVE IT!!!! There is nothing wrong with the map, is it reasonably even(slightly ct sided), and besides the color scheme being ugly, the map is not hard on the eyes…people just don’t like new maps…
