Added what the tournaments would be into the posters. Thought it would be easier for them that way they know what to expect somewhat without going to our website.
i am not sure if the rules have been posted yet. but they have to be ran by the PC and Console VP’s first. So 2v2 and 1v1 stuff may not be correct. as of this past thursday i dont THINK felix has approved any rules for starcraft, and im not sure about other games. i know last lan that kazka was asking casey for help with xbox so if those rules are coming from casey they probably are right. but like i said i dont think felix has any rules set/approved yet.
Other than that, they still look fine and have correct info. i cant think of anything else that needs to be added.
I just looked at the last LAN to see how it was set up for the PC’s, wonder how long it will take them to post the rules for them.

SpectatorIt could be a while before they are posted. It seems like all that is going on with the forums wanting to be changed, and other stuff, that the rules are the last on peoples minds right now. But hopefully the rules will be posted soon seems how the LAN is like a month away now.

SpectatorThe forums can be changed at any time. The rules need doing now.
I think some peoples’ priorities are a little skewed.

Spectatorits not that hard to copy whats already done. Think if you had to create it. ICK ICK

SpectatorI agree, the rules need to be written up, posted and be done with now. I don’t think it would go over well though with me (the treasurer) telling the VPs what to do and when to do it. And I would say it’s fine to just copy and paste the rules, but I thought maybe they needed to be updated, altered or whatever else. So now I remind daniel the rules haven’t been posted or decided upon yet and tell him to get on VPs to get it done ASAP, and that the rules and the LAN are more important right now than the forums.

SpectatorHopefully the rules will be up before Friday because I am going to a Reach Tournament in Asheville and plan to take some of my flyers with me to post. I think its safe to copy and paste last LAN’s rules and the only ones I do not know for sure is TF2 and Starcraft II (Pretty sure it’ll be 1v1 though). I have talked to Casey about Reach and Madden so hopefully Kaz-Ka(?) or the Console Leader will take Casey’s advice on the xbox rules.

You think they would let us advertise there?
November 3, 2010 at 1:31 pm #106619Fascist Flakes (Jagr)
SpectatorTheir flier is a bit…. weird. It says gaming but doesn’t say anything else on it. I like how it doesn’t say LAN or anything on it since people don’t know what a LAN is most of the time but they don’t say anything about what games are offered, which could be good and bad.
What Lemm said is a great idea, contact them to see if we could advertise there and we can advertise for them (front page, etc). Also, we could trade contact lists. They give us their list of who they e-mailed and vice-versa, could be a real winner.

SpectatorNote that they’re advertising to high school students. Find out how and do it yourselves.

SpectatorThis seems like a stupid question, cause I feel like I should know already, but what is SCC?
November 3, 2010 at 11:54 pm #106633MasterP
SpectatorSouthwestern Community College in Sylva.
November 4, 2010 at 12:13 am #106634AMerrill
SpectatorYes. It’s the local community college across from the High School.
I assume JJ or whoever is in charge of marketing will take care of contacting them.
November 4, 2010 at 3:47 am #106635Shannannonnan
SpectatorJJ has resigned as the Historian. Thor is the marketing guy. And right now if it has anything to do with sponsorship its mainly just me taking care of it, although a waffle is helping out with LAN centers in Asheville, and supposedly Thor has looked into a few places, but I don’t know where or with who, or even if it is true.
November 4, 2010 at 3:06 pm #106644AMerrill
SpectatorSounds like you guys may need to call an emergency exec meeting and ensure everything is on track for the LAN; not only for the marketing side of it but other things as well. Maybe even a forum discussion if you can get all of the execs involved.

SpectatorAny news on the flyers or posters? If not I will print some myself and post them at the LAN centers in Asheville.

The club has too many resources for you to be paying to print them yourself.

SpectatorTrue but if their not printed by tomorrow I am going to have to print them myself
November 5, 2010 at 5:39 am #106653Shannannonnan
SpectatorSorry the person who said was going to check into that hasn’t done it yet. But we will reimburse you. Just let us know how much you spent and we will give it back to you.
I have said to Daniel that we need to hold a meeting to fill the secretary position as well as the historian position…but nothing has been planned or anything as far as I know. So yea I’m passing the words along and trying to help him out with this crap….but nothing is happening and I’m annoyed with it.

SpectatorI hate to repeat myself so much but any news on the flyers?
November 17, 2010 at 12:28 pm #106793MasterP
SpectatorUnfortunately, the only reliable means of getting action from the execs is to *edited* them off.
They’ll hate you for it but whatever needs doing will actually get done.
November 17, 2010 at 1:39 pm #106794Ephraim
SpectatorWaffle, I like your enthusiasm, but you chose the worst possible time to join this club. We are in full-on meltdown mode. The current execs don’t want to do jack *edited*, least of all check the forums.
