As a student, I think the SGA is reflecting the administration’s view moreso than the students. So far Western has shown little care for the opinion and voice of the student and simply taken what money it can and spend it on whatever they deem necessary. Logic and reason has nothing to do with such decision making. Honestly, if we must, we take the gaming club and make it its own seperate entity and rely on its community to step up and be willing to donate for the cause and the sake of LAN events. The community has before when a server was needed. Why not now? Besides, this is not just a student only organization. If anything, we turn down a lot of potential students because they hear from us on what the school itself has not provided and that we ourselves had to provide for at our own expenses. I still want to be a part of this gaming club when I graduate and I’m willing to invest what I can into it. I don’t think it would be too much to ask for the community to invest what it can since no one within the University’s infrastructure is willing to.
