Grats, you can officially find the most expensive item on NewEgg by searching prices highest to lowest. Protip: This doesn’t mean you build worth 3 *edited*s.

SpectatorLoving the dust on your air cooled gear.
Citan you realize your RAM is running in single channel mode right? That’s computer building 101.
Oh and btw, 3/4 of your hard drives will be dead in the not so distant future. I wouldn’t let a Hitachi or Samsung drive in my house, let alone one of my computers, it’s asking for trouble.
For as much money as you dumped into this, your brand selection on the important parts was absolutely terrible. Even the brands you got right, like the Thermaltake PS, isn’t certified for Nvidia SLI and it’s rails are unbalanced. I mean, read a FAQ or something because for as powerful as you think it is, I could have taken 20% less money and built the same thing. Maybe even saved more than that.

ok so lets start with the ram. When I got the processor there was not alot of ram out for it. Its different now but again when I got the processor yeah….
The second thing is the hds samsung spinpoint series hard drives have a much higher mtbf than western digital and therefore shouldn’t have had any problems crashing, which is why they were selected.
Now for the last thing which is the brand selection. When it comes to chips they are all made in the same factory TSMC in Seattle. They sell chips to the board makers. Oh and as for the power supply….maybe research more cuz yeah it is SLI certified…here is the link. http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/product/powe…w0216/w0216.asp

Nothing you say can excuse that RAM setup. Seriously, spend $100 and get 6GB of triple channel DDR3-1600. As it is now, my 4 year old laptop probably uses it’s DDR2 more efficiently than your machine.

The second thing is the hds samsung spinpoint series hard drives have a much higher mtbf than western digital and therefore shouldn’t have had any problems crashing, which is why they were selected. For starters, MTBF is really pointless in the scheme of things. What really matters is the head load/unload operations. Still, I’m not sure where you’re getting that false info of who’s more reliable than who so let me break it down for you.
Samsung’s Spinpoint F1 DT series has an MTBF of 600,000 hours and 50,000 head cycles. For their “high-end” drives this is extremely low.
Western Digital’s Blue series, their basic line, has an MTBF of 1 million hours and 50,000 head cycles. WD’s Black series, their upper-end consumer, has an MTBF of 1.2 million hours and 300,000 head cycles. WD’s RE3 series, their “high-end”, has an MTBF of 1.2 million hours and 300,000 head cycles.
So yeah, WD is about the best you can get short of server drives at which point HP and Seagate magically become good picks.
Also, why not RAID5? You’ve got the money, space, ports, and power. RAID5 with 5-6 WD RE3s would have silenced this thread hours ago.

Btw, BFG is good but you’ll need that lifetime warranty. Out of all the high performance cards their failure rate is, well, stunningly high. High enough to where I’d rather just spend less and get the just as powerful yet more reliable eVGA card.
Also, in the picture all 3 of those video cards have different heatsinks. Are they matched cards?

The link you gave points to a Toughpower CM. They aren’t the same.
Btw, the internet says you only need a 900w supply for your setup, that’s with efficiency and capacitor aging accounted for. Just sayin…

As for your claim that graphics cards are not the same they actaully are. The important parts all come from the same place. I have a brother who works in the semiconductor industry and has first hand knowledge of this seeing as how he dealt with TSMC for his job. Im not an an electronic engineer and I never will be. Im good at business and making tons of money thats my calling in life. Yeah im gonna mess up when I build computers but thats cuz I have a life as I said in my intro I spend most of my money either on cars or reinvesting it into my business.

Protip: Very few believe you are what you say you are. This thread was about the best machines. The other thread was about the best overclocker. While you may have the most expensive parts, you have no idea how to use them. This means you lose both threads. Go back to “making tons of money” and let the big boys build the power machines.

Please tell me you know the difference between XFX and PC Chips. They have the same chipsets and processors but one manages to have month+ uptimes and the other is lucky to stay up for more than an hour.
