I totally agree with this entirely. When Halo 2 first came out during our Freshman year we would often time have 4 or 5 rooms full of people playing a whole array of games against players through out the campus, in fact I met most of the guys I hung out with first through playing on the open lan. When the ports were closed it really hindered the ability to meet people from other parts of campus, and segregated the gaming communities to just within your own building, and often times people were forced to play on XBox Live which can often times ruin a person’s gaming experience, and chase people away gaming entirely. I think re-opening the ports for gamers would allow for a more openness of our Console Gaming community as a whole, and bring more people into the University via these opportunities.
