SpectatorSo this is for source? Suggestion here for the post office, that should be one bomb site, and make it so that you can shoot through the mail boxes from inside or out, sound will come in handy here. I dont know if it is gonna be DE, if it is then that is my suggestion, if not, ignore me.

SpectatorFirst floor structure is pretty much done. Now I’m going to start sealing off areas not worth playing in, fixing up the lighting, and making some models for doors, stairs, etc.
So here’s floor 1, pre-alpha. Let me know if the floor textures (the floorplans) don’t work, I thought I packed them correctly but I could be wrong.

SpectatorI talked to nix monday morning at breakfast about finishing this map, we agreed to collaborate and whatnot. I just got done with about an hour and half of putting the floor plans through paint and coming up with what I think is a balanced, competetive map worthy of the cs source pub, or any for that matter, hell this may be just because it is my map dynamics design, but i think it would make a great scrim map too.
T spawn is under the Clock tower and around it, it can be climbed up into to awp into the second floor from it, the stage may or may not be on the quad depending on what kind of cover i feel is best for Long A. The stairwell that is bombsite B will have some liberties taken with it to make it worthy. Oh and it will be worthy. Feedback PLEASE, lots of it folks.
EDIT: Attaching these pricks was rather annoying.

Spectatorim not gonna lie, i really want to test this map out…. 3 stories=awesome hopefully
September 12, 2007 at 12:28 pm #26607Kuros
Spectator#1. Probably better if we make it cs_hinds. That way we can show it off to the powers that be if it becomes popular. Can’t show it off if the objective is to blow up the UC.
#2. Leave all the entrances that exist. The more ways the CTs have to get in (or T’s if it remains a bomb map) the better. Don’t give it the woes that plague assault and militia.
September 12, 2007 at 12:37 pm #26608Brian
SpectatorThe distances that have to be run make B bombsite a lot more even, I can add in more entrances if you want though, B bombsite is a lot like B in Contra, Ts can get there en mass about the time CTs get there with their half. It is a much trickier site to defend for either side though since it is cramped and such, I want the doors on the upper level to have doors with windows like on nuke, you can throw nades through em, but they need to be open to give a bit more of a physical delay.I may make some changes to how one gets in the building, i think i use The kitchen area of the first floor a bit more, i want third floor to be a bit limited though. The fight is on the second floor, and the CTs own B Bombsite but they can easily lose either way if they don’t balance their efforts to keep B and get to A.
September 12, 2007 at 12:53 pm #26610Brian
SpectatorMade some changes, put a corridor through the kitchen thats goes into Long A or into the other elevator shaft. One thing I didn’t expand upon earlier was the elevator shafts, there is two and they are broken down, they are near pictch dark inside, Ts can use them to climb up to the second and third floors, night vision or a flash light will help here

September 12, 2007 at 2:37 pm #26619Brian
SpectatorWh exactly are you worried pink? It’s potential for controversy?
September 12, 2007 at 2:44 pm #26620pinkcs
SpectatorWell yeah I wouldn’t assume you havent thought of it already.. but yeah.. *edited*. With the way American popular culture is, making a map like this could be a quick way to get your WCU Gaming club status revoked along with all afforded privillages… What sort of precautions are you taking?
No matter how benign intentions can be, we see the potential for exageration of negative factors and the effects of political correctness day in and day out. Be careful with this. Being gamers with the best point of view on the subject its far to easy to forget the impression that other people can get, some of those people could be parents of students or zealous faculty.
