That is a good place to start, just so I know where do you work and what do you do there? Sometimes a job can be your X-Factor the thing that is dragging you down, and it gets even worse when you are already in a negative state of mind. I mean I hate my job right now, I am living pay check to pay check with it but I know that I gotta have it so I keep going to it. As soon as something better comes along I will be moving on to something else. Taking a week off and planning to do things you love is a great idea, try every day to not stay in bed and mope, get out and enjoy your hobbies and if that isn’t working call up a friend, and hell if nobody is available get online and play some games with us, anything to keep from having to be alone and letting the silence and sadness take over.

I work for a moving company. Normally its just a summer job for me, but since I didn’t get my student loan/had to move back I’ve been doing it since January. It’s not a bad job, I do actually sort of enjoy it, but it can be very stressful at times. I’m trying to find a new job right now, but I’m not really having much luck. It’s not that big a deal though, since I don’t really hate my job or anything. It’s kind of *edited*ty outside right now, so going for another hike in the woods is out of the question. I called my friend who lives like a 5 minute walk away, he’s amazing at guitar, we’re going to jam this evening!

It’s called a week’s worth of daycations. It seems to work from an economical pov, plus it’s a good way to destress quickly.

Has nobody read my op? Lock em’s got to find his niche, like a long term goal whether it be a 5 year long or a 50 year long mission. You said that you’ve been playing the guitar for 7 years. Ever thought of teaching it to kids or getting a job at a music company/store? You should try doing what you love. If you’re going to teach, make it your goal to have a kid learn the guitar *edited* well. If you want to work with a guitar company, make sure you find the right education to get you there. If you’re not sure if you’re really into guitars (I’m just using that as an example btw) then go out and try new things. Find a long term objective and make it your job to accomplish it.

I have a long term goal! I plan on going back to university in the fall and doing political science (if I have the money), and then maybe law school after my undergrad. Guitar isn’t really something I see myself making a career around. Obviously if I had the chance to make it big in a band or something, I’d do that, but thats not very likely. There’s a music store around here that I could apply to, but it’s pretty hard to get on over there I’ve heard. I’ve never really considered teaching guitar before though. Will definitely take some music courses in school though.
