While I agree that scortched earth is not the policy in this case, there are some Middle East related scenarios that will play out in the next few years where a scortched earth will be the only way to win. When Iran nukes Israel or one of our bases will you be ok with it then?
Israel is just as ready to press that red button as any country in that area that has nuclear weapons. In fact, I bet they are the ones to do it. They have taken alot of *edited* over the last few thousand years, I’d be trigger happy after all that.
