Pink Monkey #16
SpectatorThis is for all of you, and I know that this is most of the people here, that lay awake at night wondering about the story of the Pink Monkey’s.
The three original Pink Monkeys began to play CSS together in August of 2006. The 3 originals are #1, #4, and #17. #17 was about to debark for college as a little freshman, but the night before he left, he, a friend, and his brother, gathered together for some pwnage. They played on several servers. Then #1, saw the light. He said, “Let’s come up with the most ridiculous name possible for ourselves. What will people feel bad about being killed by?” And then #4 said, “How about Pink Monkeys?” And so it was. The three chose numbers for themselves. Play continued. Perhaps a couple hours later into the night, #17 attacked the other team with some true Monkey Hax. (It was on de_train, I believe.) For that, he received an immediate promotion to #16. The story pauses here for a time.
Fast forward to Labor Day, the first Pink Monkey LAN. Several new Monkeys were added that day. This LAN was originally known as one of the Great LANs. (For more about the Great LANs be patient, #16 will post about them some other time.) Then came more college. #16 finally, at the prompting of his roommate, bought CSS. (How he played it before is classified.) Then he corrupted his girlfriend, who became #5. (She had been corrupted at a previous LAN, a Great LAN in fact, in July, however, now she too took a number.) She in turn corrupted her brother, who became #13, though this didn’t happen until Christmas of 2006. (BTW, how many people can claim that they starting playing CSS at their sister’s urging?)
This rounded out the Monkeys for a while. They played in the evenings usually, having the time of freshman. (Oh where does that time go?) Several servers were tried, most were inadequate. Finally they became regulars at Georgia Tech. This lasted quite a while and was where many of the Monkey’s began to develop skills. They stayed because of hundreds of thousands of dollars were deposited in the server bank. One night, #1 actually inflicted so much uberpwnage that he was offered and became a GeorgiaTech admin. Sadly, this happy time ended when GeorgiaTech died.
Then the Monkeys moved to WCU. They enjoyed great success there until one night, in a fit of rage, a certain admin named Kuros banned them all. We shall not chronicle that occurrence here, but the banned forums host the very first Pink Monkey posts on these forums. By this time, #13 was an active member as well and corrupted a few of his friends, notably #27 aka wildthang, #18, and #35. This was also about the time that #16 tried his first, yet unsuccessful bid to achieve absolute domination of the server aka applied for admin.
Months passed, Pink Monkeys joined the ranks. Some played WCU sporadically such as #11 and #9, but the only true regulars were #5, #16, #13, and #35, and #27. Finally at the beginning of summer, #16 was granted admin. He was eventually followed in this by #13, #27, and #18, and soon to be #5. (Please look at the admin applications.) Summer hosted only sporadic playing as summer is busy. Then came Fall 2007. And that’s pretty much it.
This clan is unique in that I personally know everyone in it and that they have each come to at least one LAN.
However, I would like to recognize several honorary members of this group.

SpectatorThe first post lies.
The pink monkeys were actually created from the carcass of a frost giant, slain by Odin.
