I’m considering taking advantage of this pretty awesome discount for students (I think it’s for all Massachusetts students) and getting some kind of bundle of Adobe software. And to give you an idea as to how awesome, it’s $296.25 for the CS3 Design Premium (normally $1799) and $485.85 (normally $2399) for CS4 Master Collection. I couldn’t find CS3 Master Collection on their site; I admit I didn’t look very hard, though. However, it’s being sold for $500 with the student discount and it’s like $1900 on Amazon.
BUT I was wondering if any of you guys have CS3 and/or CS4 and which one you like better and why?
There isn’t any change in features…or at least none that I’ve personally noticed, and I’ve been using photoshop since version 3 professionally. As well as Macromedia products (now Adobe…dreamweaver etc) for a long *edited* time…so thats saying something.
They are virtually the same, except for the fact that CS3 is faster.
For me, CS4 was the “Windows Vista” of Adobe releases….its the one you kindly try…but politely skip.
CS4 has additional animation/graphic features, that are kinda nice. Other than that, I donno the key differences.
CS3 is awesome, and I know of an even sweeter deal if you are looking to spend alot less money, pm me and ill let you in on it if your interested.

Feature additions are minimal, and pretty much all the things that were added were just quicker ways of doing things you could before.
Go with CS3. I got a student discount on the CS3 master collection last year. We upgraded to CS4 at work, and I end up bringing my Clevo laptop to work just so I can use CS3. It’s quicker.

Haha, it’s okay. I wasn’t really expecting anyone to check this section (I usually ignore it, haha), so I posted in the Deviantart thread hoping to get people’s attention. I was j/k in the DA thread.
