Most of the furs i’ve met have been through either the Carolina Furs group, Facebook (I have a separate furry account), or some other network site.
To be honest, i’d rather be playing games on the WCU servers in my spare time, with the occasional dabble in an MMO

and yes there are conventions, but they’re mostly just for fun, panels and such, art dealers, as well as a merch dealer room. In all honesty it’s not much different from a comic book convention.

this was also a reason that I passed on the LAN this past weekend, cuz there was a convention down in Atlanta (yes I skipped over the LAN for a furry convention) and it was probably the most fun i’ve had in my life, like really :3
I actually like the Wikipedia article on furries, it takes a really balanced stance and points out some common misconceptions
