Personally, I think that the -15 points is a pretty big deduction so far. I mean, in office, which is about the only cs map we play anyways, to have killing hostages do any good you have to kill two of them anyways. Thats -30 points to the offender, which is pretty stiff. Also, just taking me as an example, I try not to kill hostages, but if terrorists are hiding close to them or among them, sometimes they die. I guess I would make a horrible SWAT team member, because I don’t even think about hitting the hostages if a terrorist is shooting a me, I only think about killing him.
As far as penalizing teams go…. I think its fair, first it puts pressure on that person from their teammates, secondly -1 point is not that much and since rescuing/holding hostages is the point of the mission (think do the objective), if a hostage dies that team who killed them actually failed and should be punished.
A solution to remedy some of this. Make killing a hostage worth -15 points per hostage, make rescuing a hostage worth +15, -1 for a team, +1 for a team. -5 for all hostages dead to the team who killed the last one, +5 for all hostages rescued to the CT team. Do the same thing with the money. I do think its also a good incentive to have the hostage killer lose all their money as well.
A side note…. Liam, is there anyway for admins to track who kills the hostages? That way if one person is repeatedly killing them, we can take action. A simple message that says “Pink Monkey #16 has killed a hostage!” in chat would be good.
Have no fear the monkeys will return. Speaking for 5 and myself, we have been swamped the past few days with homework. (Swamped as in I did literally 14 hours of *edited* yesterday and I’m still not done.) After today, all should be better, but then we’re going skiing for the next several days, so it could be Sunday or Monday before you see us again. But have no fear, the monkey hax will once again be on.

As renton said, this rotation stuff is working because we were full forever last night. It has been months since I had trouble getting in the server, but last night I had troubles. (Thanks renton) But some sort of announcement that SK3 is only 10 minutes would keep the server from bleeding people.
just my opinion, from my experience tides clears the server faster than assault. it should go. also, i fully support nuke being added. it seems that dust2 gets played alot. can we replace a dust2 with another office?
btw, this rotation stuff is pretty cool, now we’re not at the mercy of ignorant people voting.

i second DJ Kaled…. believe it or not i do like sk3 every once and a while, just not all the time. I like a diversity of maps.

I think the main problem is that we sometimes have voting with three or four favorites. For example, say we have office, dust2, inferno, and assault all up at the same time. nine non *edited* people vote for the first three, but that splits the vote three ways so each map has three, then four die hard people vote for assault and assault is the map even though most of the server didn’t want it. i have seen this happen too many times.
my solution is to have two tiers of map voting. throw up a random vote with 6 or 7 options as usual, then if no one option received over 50% of the votes, do a second vote with only the top 2 or 3 choices of the first vote shown. that way any map that gets chosen at least 50% of the server population wants. thus, less people will drop out because they will want to play certain maps and then three or four crazy people can’t kill the server in 5 minutes.
