SpectatorOn Thursday, January 28, 2010 – the ITS department experienced an issue with their VM Array that our web server was hosted on. Because of this, we have lost all of the uploaded content as well as the pictures from the previous LAN’s as well as all posts / threads on the forums between November and the above date.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and are working to try to recover more data, however, if anyone has any pictures from the past LAN’s saved, please notify me so that we can coordinate getting them uploaded to the webserver and put back out for display.
Thank you,
-Liam

Thanks for getting the forums back up guys… I’m sure Adam, Liam, and Kip worked really hard to do it.

I’m having a hard time finding it, still need to check my carbonite account for the backup. IF NOT, another all nighter won’t hurt.

SpectatorI really am sorry about the lost data everyone. I’m going to be putting some things into place to ensure this doesn’t happen again.
We did at least manage to salvage a forum sql dump from november, but beyond that, everything is gone.

SpectatorNo need for apologies. You did the best you could which is the only thing anyone could expect. The people that need to apologize is IT but that’s not going to happen. Thank you for getting us back to at least November Liam.

SpectatorWe did a sector scan of both of Adam’s drives using some pretty balling recovery software trying to find newer ones but just didn’t get anything.

Oh I’m sure they are already trying to come up with reasons/excuses why it wasn’t their fault.

SpectatorInstead of lamenting our losses, I am going to rebuild by re-posting all of my troll threads deleted in the process.

SpectatorJust as a little notification, the meeting we had planned today is going to need to be canceled. We will need to schedule it for another time.

Well for one because we planned it at the last minute. I forgot about it until Friday when Shingi reminded me of it and by that time, the forums were down. I will get back to you all with another announcement at a later time concerning our next meeting.

SpectatorFor this to work, you can’t schedule this at the last minute, no one outside the commuter lounge clique would have known about it.
Also, can Ephraim repost the meeting minutes for the last election meeting.

Yes, I can. Should I post minutes for the entire meeting or just the presidential election?
Also, I had no idea there was a meeting planned.
January 31, 2010 at 8:29 pm #96782melatonin
SpectatorI had no clue of the meeting either.

The entire meeting please. I need to re-update the exec contact page and all the permissions on the board.
Also, anyone who has registerd since the last meeting will need to do so again, including a few of the new execs/CLs.
January 31, 2010 at 8:38 pm #96785Liam
SpectatorI’ll take care of permissions plz.

Well Mitch, dont assume the commuters lounge group helped plan this, Freezer if I am not mistaken is the one who pitched this meeting date. And its like they say, you know what happens when you assume things lol.

Neither of the VPs, at least 2 PC CLs (probably all 4), the webmaster, and alumni advisor knew nothing about it.
Unfortunately 95% of my assumptions are right. It’s to the point now where I just run with them.

SpectatorWell I was reminded by Shingi of it Friday and I could have swore you suggested it at the last meeting Freezer. Oh well.
Ah you guys and your conspiracy theories lol. Shingi do you know who’s idea this was, it wasnt mine, I hate planning things on Sunday, I consider it my homework day.
