Well overall console games are played more then pc games bec they are cheaper and easier to play. for that reason we could get alot more people to come to the lans if we include some console games. After all this is a gaming club, not a pc gaming club. This way the lans would include the full spectrum of video games. Thus making the gaming club grow larger and more well known. If we include all type of video games to be played in tournaments the gaming club would be huge.
the problem is that most likely everyone has a computer. there are different models but a computer is a computer and it most likely can have all the same games. while there are different types of consoles. theres ps2, xbox, sega, nintendo, gamecube and a few others i think. im sure that not one person has more than 2, ok maybe adam =) but most people wont have more than 2, and if you choose like halo2 for xbox a lot of people may have that but they may not. i have a ps2 but i barely play it. so i think that would be the problem, along with the point that i dont think that WCU has 50 tv’s, like they have computers. i dont think anyone will bring their own tv lol. but then again im a stupid 13 year old right? what do i know lol =/
well urban i could prob get 50 people to this lan, and most of them would bring a tv. if you didnt know halo 2 is played for MLG or major league gaming. as in they play for money…kinda like the cyber league but just for consoles. halo 2 is one of the most people games on xbox live. and to your earlier comment not everyone playes the same games on the pc…yes alot of people play cs but not everyone does. you could say that not every console player plays halo 2 either…but alot do. so halo 2 is very popular in many respects and i could get alot of people w/ tv’s to come to the lan…but alot of the people who came to the lan dont even play cs. so other people would come to play halo even if they dont play it in their dorm or at home. also urban this is a gaming club and i know a good amount of pc players but i know alot more people who play on consoles. consoles are alot cheaper and you dont have to upgrade them ever so often to be able to play new games. nice comment but that dosent get by the fact that i could get alot of people to come and play halo 2 at a lan…
by the time all of this will take place new and better games will come out and they will most likely be included to be played on xbox or w/e games on console that would like to be played
So does anyone have any suggestions about what game you would like to play?
The name of this club is WCU Gaming Club. We named the club that because we are open to console games and other types of games. Gamers are gamers, whether they play on a pc, on a mac, on a PS2, on an X-box, or even a board game. I know there is a difference between the others listed and the last game listed, but when you have someone who spends hours playing ‘games’ because that is what they love to do, I consider them a gamer.
In the past we have had several people show up to our lans, asking about playing console games. The reason that we don’t currently include those, is because we do not have the support we need to include those games, e.g. we have council leaders for the 5 pc games that we host, but as far as I know, not 1 person has come forth and expressed the required dedication to become a council leader for console games: X-Box or PS2. Please know that we want to include other gamers, we always have, but Adam is only 1 man. I know that he had the help of 2 others when he started this gaming club, but he can’t do everything. He had to learn those games that we are hosting inside and out to be able to support them. He is really excited about including those other gamers. I know personally, that I had 1 friend come to me and tell me that if we were going to play X-Box at the lan, he would def. be there because he is a hard core gamer.
Those that made it to the last lan, and have been to previous lans, know that we did at least 2 things we have never done before, we used 2 different rooms and we had Guitar Hero hooked up and ready to go. We would have had an X-Box or PS2, but everyone seemed to have forgotten theirs. No biggie, we really didn’t have the space.
However, we will be deciding the game(s), date, time, place of the next lan at are next meeting, which the gaming club president, Josh or josrocket, is currently setting up. Please attend, you are just what we have been looking for, someone dedicated enough to console games that could potentially be the council leader.
!lolakuzan i was just putting what i think. and im sure you could get alot of your friends that play halo 2. i never said it wasnt popular, but think about it where would you put that many tv’s along with the computers? maybe if it was in a different room but i dont really know. oh and ashley PRETTY COLORS! LMFAO

but we do allow consul games in our club. we just need the support AKa players to play that game at the lans…
well i talked to adam about this situation. he is will to help me out in doing this and i am doing my best to get all of it together. i can get alot of gamers to come to this lan, some from the college and some from else where. i can get what is necessary for the lan aka the equipment. i can get people to bring xbox’s and or 360’s for the lan thats no biggie. the hardest thing to acquire is the tv’s. but i will be able to get the people and most likely the euipment. i just need to find a sponsor that would sponsor items that console players would like to win. the prizes for winning the pc tournies are great prizes for pc players. but most hardcore console players dont play pc games enought to want to win pc equipment. i will do my best to make all of this happen soon. i will keep posting and talking with adam to make all of this a reality
i dont think you will be alowwed to get 50 people just for console stuff. i dont think they will find like 4 rooms for 100 people at the lan.
Please be sure to come to our next meeting, we are looking into getting one of the biggest rooms on campus. Enough room to handle at least 50 console gamers and at least 50 pc gamers. Don’t worry about that Urban. Like the last lan, there was a need for more space, so Adam found us the space. Akuzan, I’m sure if need be we can rent the equipment from the university.
alright that sounds good. i will be working on getting all of it together and working with adam also. also urban stop trying to find every little fault that you can about what i say. you dont even attend this college. i like criticism but when you are just posting to find fault ane you have no suggestions for change thats just being rude. give suggestions for change instead of just finding errors
Yes Akuzan as we spoke before. This will happen with help. It seems to be an easy task. Just hard to get everyone and everything in one room is the hard part.
im pointing out stuff so you guys can fix it. im just a 13 year old attention _____ according to you. im pointing out things that need to be changed, you guys change it yourselves cause im not even going to the LAN most likely
