Suggestion for the banned forum

I think we should institute some kind of system that makes you say you’ve read the sticky in the banned forum before allowing you to start a thread in that forum. Like when you submit a new thread, it won’t let you do it until you tick a checkbox that says “I HAVE READ THE STICKY POSTED IN THE BANNED FORUM AND HAVE INCLUDED ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION”.

 

Of course it wouldn’t stop everyone as many people will just check the box regardless, but it seems posts that actually include all the relevant info are the exception rather than the norm (I’d guess only 25% of these types of posts include everything that’s required). I think something like a checkbox or another warning page before allowing you to submit a new thread to the banned forum would cut down on the number of posts everyone has to make saying “look at the sticky, then post again”.

 

I’m not sure who the web person is or if this can be implemented with the current board system, but I do feel like it would help us all out if it’s possible.

We are changing it to be like the admin application. So that you have to fill out a form.

alright, consider my suggestion irrelevant then LOL. Good to hear that it’s going to be improved. I also think it says something good about the server that we do get so many requests to repeal bans, because people enjoy playing on the server and don’t want the experience taken away.

I thought that would be the best place to put it and when I looked not every thread in the banned forum was started by someone who had been banned, some were just general discussions about banning. my apologies.

What if we have like a read this first page, kind of like license acceptance pages for software downloads, and then a <agree->appeal / disagree->honorable discharge> button thing at the bottom (agree or disagree on the buttons, then kicking them to said pages)…
