Yeah so i uninstalled yesterday, then as i try to long into my account it says that the password is wrong (when it isn’t) and it’s gonna send me an verification code (which is dosent do), anyone else have this happen to them? This is really odd this i haven’t changed my pw for the 4 years or more i had this game =\. I also got an messege from Steam via friends list saying somthing really odd about my account yesterday . Anyone plz help?
ummmm you did not get a message from steam via friends list. that was a fake. hopefully, you did not tell them any of your account information (i.e. your password). If you gave out your password to this person pretending to be from steam over friends, then your account has been compromised.
If this is the case, the password has since been changed and so has the associated e-mail address. That would be why you can’t log into your account or receive the verification code. The perpetrator could have used it to hack on some server.
Don’t wanna sound too harsh, but that sounds like what happened based on your symptoms and “getting a message from steam via friends list saying something really odd about my account.” Try to contact valve to sort this out, but I wouldn’t be hopeful.
Just so you know, nobody from steam will ever contact you via in-game messaging to discuss your account. They have that little warning about it in the message window to explain that and prevent scams like the one you may have fallen victim to.
If you are absolutely sure you did not give out the password to anyone else (especially the guy pretending to be from steam), then I don’t know what’s going on.

i guess im gonna finally have to buy one then :\how did you get a free account? Also, if CS 1.6 is all you play (and it should be), then it’s only $9.99 these days.
yea, there are two people going around scamming accounts, one being automaticsecuritybot, and i forgot the other name. I put out a warning in game a few weeks back about this. i think we need to report this guys steam id

yea that security bot thing got to me, pretty much my fault falling for it =\ but u can easily get his IP i think through steam friends, jun, tofo, death spirit, and a couple other guys are on my friends list maybe that can be a help? btw if you’re any of those guys add me to your friends again when u see me in the server

after so long you just forget your p/w, this did happen to me. i had to ask for the verification code n it didnt work…i just kept trying n sooner or later it will work
steam is messed up like that

haha, you prove a good point, it does say that. I cant believe how some people like ripping others off. Honest people that rare?
