running commentary

by the way, I seem to remember it was either our forums or someone else I regularly contributed to back in the day that had a running commentary on the right side of the main page as well as the usual news feed down the middle, plus the forums. It’s almost a moot point with the large use of IRC, but the commentary was static and didn’t just disappear if you closed the window, plus it was yet another chance to make silly comments about the day. If that was here, anyone remember it? if not, anyone seen something like it, or have an idea of what I’m talking about?
