Soooted
SpectatorSo Ive noticed a bit of some doublestandards involving racism on the server. For example, the “N” word is enforced rigidly while calling someone a chink or having it in your name for the most part isn’t. (some admins do, some don’t) Same goes for other derogatory names. Now I am half Chinese and it isn’t exactly pleasant to see that word. At the same time its not a massive issue to me, but I can imagine it is to some. These words are all racist and no I don’t want to hear any arguments about it not being on the same level as the “N” word, because that is essentially the same argument as the “N” word not being bad because black people use it and if that was the case it wouldn’t be banned on the server. So can this *edited* start being enforced please, I hate having to point out to an admin that people are being racist. It will do nothing but improve the quality of the server.

SpectatorI’ve been trying to get people to stop being so reactive to “*edited*” when used in a non-racist context, but that’s obviously not working. I’m a firm believer that it’s not the word that hurts, but how it’s used, and there really aren’t that many cases where people are actually being hurtful.

Spectatorgxti is right, the usage of that word now a days has been watered down by the people it was used against in the past, I just don’t say it out of respect, but the whole issue just makes no freaking sense.

SpectatorIt all comes down to you guys having to make the call. There is a pretty obvious difference between “That was tight *edited*” and “You stupid *edited*ing *edited*.” Number one is not racism. Number 2 is. I don’t think any of you have any trouble differentiating.

Now, if he said “You stupid *edited*, go back to Africa and get AIDS” – it’d be racist. Also, I’m not making this example up, I’ve heard it far too many times. *edited* you Internets and your trolls.

Spectatorso either way its coming down to admins perceptions and no matter wut we do thats wut will happen its just up for the call

Spectator99.999999999% of it is trolling (assuming they are being derogatory). People trying to *edited* other people off which if you look in the nifty server rules put up by our one and only gxti, is also illegal and grounds for kick/temp ban.

SpectatorIsn’t it funny how white ppl don’t really mind being called a cracker or even a honkey, or atleast I don’t. I had a really good ending to this, but I don;t think I want to get banned just yet.
You should give sooted admin, and a member of every other minority, so they can be the judge, and see weather or not it’s being used in good sense or not.
If this goes through, I want complete immunity, as the founder of this post, I am subject to extra critisism.
Now that my ramblings are complete, I will return to my position as neutral on-looker into what has become a hot topic these days for first person shooter gaming club forums, e-racism at it’s worst.

Spectatorweather it is meant in a hurtful way or not we have never allowed the -N- bomb to be used in the servers . because what is hurtful to one may not be to another person . so we just didnt allow it in any case and it was fine now we are to deside if it was meant in a hurtful manner this is becoming to much like a real job just playing the freaking game my god

SpectatorOK, if this is too much for you, just play the game. You don’t have to have responsibilities, you know.
