SpectatorKilling Floor just came out yesterday. There were problems connecting to servers because apparently some ports frequently get blocked on the servers. I bought it and tried it out… After I was able to actually connect to some servers I realized it’s a really good game.
It’s very entertaining and while it is very similar to left 4 dead in some ways it is also different. Between waves of monsters you go and see a trader where you can trade weapons you’ve picked up or bought for newer weapons. You can only carry so much but the amount you can carry goes up with each wave. Also, there are different classes with different perks that give you extra damage with some weapons and discounts on them too. There’s 5 levels for each perk (I think?). It works like XP but each one is triggered by using a certain weapon, healing someone, welding a door shut, etc.
LoL and there are 6 players instead of 4 and they all have english accents and have money in British Pounds. The characters are all male and look like characters from CS except for the trader which is a darkish skinned English woman who likes to say how she likes “big guns” a lot.
It’s pretty fun so far .. there are many different weapons and I’d say it was worth the 15 bucks I spent on it.. It runs pretty well too. People are saying it’s built on the Unreal 2.5 Engine … whatever that means.. I just thought it was running off of UT2004 (which I’m pretty sure it is) but it’s still a good game.

worth the buy?For me it was. Just remember you’re not buying a cheaper l4d… Right now they still are having problems with the server browser etc.. I have to select servers from out of game in the steam server browser before entering.. and it doesn’t display the difficulty level on it. They’re working on it and hopefully that will be fixed soon but right now I’m leveling up my perks!

SpectatorHmmm, i have a $10 best buy rebate. I might have to consider either this or L4D. That or a really long Ethernet cord (see my hardware thread for this to make sense)

I mean, what if the vent goes upwards or something?

If you have a 2 story house each floor has its own duct work. the only reason it should “jump” up is to connect to the AC unit ontop of your house if you have evap cooling. If you have refrigerated air usually the units are on the side of the house so the jump up would not exist. You will have to take the vent coverings off of every room along the way to string it along. Like I said it sucks and takes awhile and alot of patience but it can be done. You have to worry about the heater though. It is possible to melt the cord if the heater is on so I dunno how long you plan on staying there.

Spectatorwell for starters if you can’t direct the string yourself tie it to some type of wire and feed it up in there …
if you don’t have any wire.. clip off the top of a clothes hanger, straiten it out and then tie the string to that and the other end of the string to the cable and direct it that way.. will give you some direction
